SURPRISE!

Howdy! We (especially Joshua) have been very busy! I'm now over 31 weeks pregnant which means our little booger can really come at any time now. It would be pretty early but still possible, so we've been working hard to get his nursery ready for his arrival. Friday night and all day Saturday, Joshua worked on his room by putting together furniture, hanging up his name and cleaning out his closet. I helped him as best I could but he was definitely Super Dad.

His room is looking pretty good at this point but I'm going to wait until we've finished with the final touches before I post any pictures. You'll have to hang on just a little bit longer! Today Joshua finished up the furniture by painting the rocking chair and toy box white. It's adorable!

One of the main reasons I wanted the nursery put together last week was because I had a strong feeling that my baby shower would take place over the weekend. Everyone tried to be as sneaky as possible about it, but I knew to be prepared for any event that I was invited to. So when I got an invite to celebrate my cousin, Natalie's birthday on Sunday, I had no choice but to suspect the shower. I arrived at Carmine's at 2:30pm on January 25th to a big "SURPRISE!" as I walked in the party room. My two sisters and cousins (Kate, Cherie', Brandi and Natalie) threw an amazing party, and I was overjoyed to see all of my family and friends there. I truly felt special, and it warmed my heart to see so many people excited about our little boy and so willing to help out by giving all of the wonderful gifts. I was literally opening gifts for about an hour and a half! Thank you all so much for everything! You have lifted a load off our shoulders by providing us with the essentials that would otherwise be incredibly difficult to afford these days. And thank you so so much to the girls who brought everyone together to celebrate Baby Beckham! You all did an amazing job!!

One of the center pieces at the shower was an amazing diaper cake that Brandi made. It is so fabulous that i have to post a pic of it!

Beckham should now be weighing around 4lbs, and he certainly feels like it. He feels like a giant baby moving around in me, and he's actually expected to gain about a half a pound per week from this point on! He's gotten big enough to where I can now see him moving almost every time I feel him. Whenever I feel him move now, I hurry and look at my stomach so I can catch sight of it. Last night I was laying on my side on the couch watching him move all around like a little alien trapped in me. Soon I hope to catch him with my video camera!

On a side note, my belly button is actually starting to pop out a little bit! I really thought it was going to stay in throughout the whole pregnancy but I think it might actually be out by the time I give birth. We may even be able to see it in my belly pics one day!

Yes, I said Sweaty Armpits

10 WEEKS LEFT!

Now we begin the real countdown. This pregnancy has gone by so much faster than I ever expected. It freaks me out to think that I'm thirty weeks pregnant already. Before I know it, Beckham will be walking and talking! Last night was the first night that his movement really caused a problem and kept me up. I swear he was doing cartwheels in there or seriously trying to bust his way out. I've never felt him move so much and so rough. It took me a little while to figure out the problem, but once I did, he went right to sleep. He didn't like the side I was laying on! Once I rolled onto my left side, he was nice and comfy, and didn't move at all.

One thing I forgot to mention in my last blog (I knew there would be something!) was that on Thursday, January 8th, Beckham had the hiccups for the first time! I felt them as soon as I woke up before I even got out the bed. I didn't want to move because I was afraid they would go away, but I had to get to work. I hope I get to feel them again soon.

I've also been starting to experience something else over the last week and a half... sweaty armpits!!! eeeewwww!! I know it's gross. I actually had to buy an extra deodorant to keep in my purse because it gets so bad that I seriously need to reapply during the day. Enough about that!

Joshua finished painting his room on Sunday! I really love the color and I can't wait to start decorating it. Yesterday we bought the letters for his name that we're going to hang on the wall above his crib. We decided to stick with just white to match his furniture. We were supposed to put the furniture together tonight but Joshua is sick at the moment. My poor baby! He may be sick but I know he's still on cloud 9... today he found out that he's going to be promoted to Corporal in a couple weeks! I'm so proud of him. He's going to be Corporal Breaux when he becomes a daddy.

I'm pretty far behind on belly pics so let me finally get everyone up to date on that. Here are the last 3 weeks, today's pic included. I'm actually starting to see a difference again!

Last but certainly not least, I have some big news. Beckham is going to have a little cousin this September! My younger sister, Kate, is 7 weeks pregnant! All of the girl's in my family have always wanted to have their babies together so this is extremely exciting! First, I got to share the beginning of my pregnancy with my cousin Brandi whose baby boy was born in October. And now I get to share the end with my little sister! If you'd like to read updates about her pregnancy, you can view her blog at www.BabyOcampo.blogspot.com.

Happy New Year!

We're finally in Beckham's birth year! Woo Hoo! We're really getting close now, and I'm just ready to take him out and smooch him up. I'm actually in the third trimester now, and I completely understand why they call the second trimester "the Honeymoon Period". It's like the moment I entered the third trimester, my body realized it was carrying a baby and started freaking out! There has been a lot of pain in unmentionable places so I'm pretty much walking like I have a stick up my butt. But it's been a while since I last posted due to computer problems, as usual, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

First, I do have Beckham's ultrasound video; however, i can't seem to get uploaded on here or on YouTube.

Second, Christmas was wonderful! All of the parties and family gatherings were a blast, and everyone was more than generous. My mom and Huey gave us a video camera as a Christmas/baby shower gift so I'll be blowing up this blog with videos of Baby Beckham very soon. Although Beckham wasn't here for Christmas, he still made out well with the gifts. Here's a pic of what he got :).

Below is a pic of me and my belly on Christmas Eve and a pic of Joshua preparing for the daddy role with Baby Athens.

Third, here is the Belly Pic from two weeks ago! I have the one was last week, but I have to get it ready to be posted.

Fourth, on Saturday, January 3rd, I did something that I was very reluctant to do. I took out my belly ring! Ah! Except for the occasional ring swap, I haven't seen my belly button without a ring in it in over 9 1/2 years. Although my belly button is poking out yet, it's making it's way there and was causing my belly ring to become very painful. I finally had to give in a take it out. It looks so weird to have nothing there!

Fifth, on Tuesday, January 6th, we got to see Beckham move for the first time! I was resting my book on my belly as I was laying in bed reading when suddenly my book began to bounce as I felt him kick. I was like, "WOAH!", and so I put the book aside and watched as my belly moved around like there were waves inside. Of course, I called Joshua to come see it and we watched together. Ever since then, I've seen him move on a daily basis; and whenever I'm sitting at home, I watch my belly waiting for him to do it again.

Sixth, Joshua started painting Beckham's room on Saturday! He painted one wall blue and one wall green, but once it dried, the green was so light that you couldn't see it at all! We were going to do two walls of each color but have now decided to go with just blue. So Joshua should be finishing that up this weekend and I'll post a pic!

Seventh, aaaaaaaah the heartburn. It has been terrible! I have never had before in my life and now I'm experiencing it on a nightly basis, just about. Also, most people know that I have terrible allergies and was getting hives everyday before I got pregnant. Miraculously, the hives stopped once I got pregnant and it was great, but.... they're back! I was hoping they would stay away for at least the next few months, but no no... they're back already and I've been getting them every night. At least I'm not getting them during the day too!

Eighth, I had my regular appointment with the doctor on Friday and everything is still looking good. I weighed in at 143lbs which means I gained 7lbs since my last appointment four weeks ago, so I now have a total weight gain of 28lbs. Beckham's heartbeat was 150 and he is now upside down in there. The doctor also commented on how extremely l0w he is which is why I've been feeling so much pain and pressure. And now I know I'm really getting close to having him because instead of seeing the doctor in four weeks as usual, it's now three!

Ok, so I think I covered everything. Whatever I missed will be covered when I post my new Belly Pic!
