So here is my Halloween post! Halloween has come and gone, and now we're only a week away from Thanksgiving. I know we all it say it all of the time, but I really can't believe how fast time goes by. I know Thanksgiving will be over in the blink of an eye, and all of the excitement will be about Christmas. This is my favorite time of year, and I just wish it would all last a little longer or pass by a little slower. But with time flying by as quickly as it does, there's no time for wishing! Just gotta enjoy the moment!
Joshua's parents came to visit us for Halloween, and it was sort of a last minute surprise. We found out only weeks before they came. We were kind of bugging them for a while to come for Halloween so we were super excited when we got the news that they would be here. Of course, Tasha, Frank and Isaac also spent Halloween with us and we all went trick or treating together on the base.
You know it's tradition, we dress as a family! This year we were Dr. Seuss characters, and I was so happy that the boys could finally be Thing 1 and Thing 2. Tasha and her fam were all pirates, and even Gene and Donna dressed up. Gene was someone from "Swamp People" and Donna dressed as Jessie from Toy Story. Gene was pretty much himself since everyone claims that he looks just like the guy he was pretending to be. Apparently, some trick or treators even knew who he was! Haha!
We started off the night handing out candy, and boy were there a TON of trick or treators! I have never seen so many in my life! Guess it's just one of the perks to living on a military base. We had three large buckets of candy and ended up running out. I was only giving about 2 pieces to each child too! Once we were done handing out candy, we made our way around the neighborhood trick or treating. Beckham did wonderful and was walking up to the doors and yelling "Trick or Treat!" all on his own, but Everett was a handful. We took turns holding him most of the time, and when I would attempt to let him walk, he would try to take off running. He was fighting to get out of my grip while yelling, "Leave me loooooone! Go waaaaay!". As much as he said "Trick or Treat" while at home, he never once said it at anyone's door, but he did manage to say "Bye Bye" a few times.
After trick or treating, the boys enjoyed some treats and then we all said our goodbyes to Gene and Donna. Their flight was leaving very early the next morning from San Diego so they went back home with Frank and Tasha until then. It was bitter sweet because we knew we were lucky to have had the opportunity to see them for even that short while, but we just weren't ready for them to leave yet. As excited as I am for Thanksgiving, I can't wait until Christmas when they will be back again.
So since Halloween has passed, we have begun our Thanksgiving crafts! So far, the boys have made turkeys out of their hand prints, and Beckham has made an Indian and a Thankful Turkey. The Thankful Turkey reads "I am thankful for... Mommy And Daddy / Brother / Friends / Apples, Onions and Bananas / Toys / and Animals". He's so silly. We still have many more Thanksgiving crafts left, but I'm already looking forward to the Christmas ones we have planned! I really do love this time of year!
Beckham and I baked a cake together on Monday. At the end when we were putting the sprinkles on, I asked him if it was pretty and he replied, "Like a girl?". LOL. He was really helpful and the cake as been uber yummy!
Beckham has been giving me a hard time with potty training for a couple of months now, but I think it's finally over. And you won't believe why... all because of Chuck E. Cheese! Beckham hasn't had a problem with peeing in the potty for weeks now, but pooping in the potty has been another story. Well once we told him that if he would go an entire week with no accidents he can go to Chuck E. Cheese, we were done with it. He hasn't had any accidents since. It's been almost two weeks, and total proof that he has been struggling for control this entire time. He's just a boogerbutt. There's nothing more I can say about that.
The older Beckham gets, the cookier the things he says. I'm still recording my favorites so here they are:
*Beckham is always saying, "Let me check it out." If I tell him where something is, if he hears a noise, etc., that's what he says before walking off to "check it out".
*If you ever hear Beckham complain that he has an onion in his mouth, that just means that he has food stuck in his teeth and it is most likely not an onion.
*Beckham was scratching his butt so I asked him what was wrong, and he replied "It's itching." So I asked him why and he answered, "Because a mosquito got in my underwear and is biting me."
*Joshua told Becks he was too fickle, and he said "What, a pickle? I'm not a pickle!"
*I said, "I'm so sick! Who's going to take care of me?" And Becks said, "Meeeee! Because I'm the Save Man!"
*Beckham was messing with his butt so I asked, "Do you need to poo?" And he said, "Noooo... a firefly just came in my butt."
*I turned Beckham's cell phone on for him one day (my old one) and I told him, "Baby, it's about to die." And he replied, "Oh, its gotta go to heaven."
*Evie woke up with a gooey eye one morning thanks to his allergies, and Becks saw it and said, "Hey, your eye is full of peanut jelly sandwich!"
*Beckham was watching "Toddlers & Tiaras" with me and when it went to commercial he said "Mommy, those girls were beautiful!"
*Beckham has a doctor set and he was using the little thingy that you use to look in the patient's ear on me. He was saying while placing it by my body parts, "First I look in your ear... First I look in your heart... First I look in your boob... First I look in your other boob..." Oh geez.
EVERETT talks and talks and talks! As I mentioned before, he repeats everything, but he also never stops talking on his own. If he doesn't have actual words to say then he is just making a ton of noise with his mouth. We started testing out his memory with songs like we did with Beckham when he was younger, and Evie remembers everything too. If you sing him "Behind Blue Eyes" or any nursery rhyme and pause, Everett will finish the line for you. He also knows the words to "Mardi Gras Mambo" and sings the entire "Bye Bye Binky" song that we used to sing to Beckham when it was getting close to throwing too.
Something that Everett has been doing for months that I always forget to write about is pretend like he's drinking coffee whenever I am drinking it. As soon as I say that I need to go make my coffee, Evie runs to his play kitchen and grabs his coffee pot and carries it around taking sips from it the entire time I'm drinking mine.
Everett loves Spiderman! Joshua had to do a costume run for work one morning and wore a Spiderman costume, and Evie was so excited when he saw him walk in the door! He kept following him around smiling, and even took a pic for me.
BABY #3
The pregnancy continues to go well! I am still doing okay as far as the morning sickness. It is difficult in the mornings, but I feel pretty good until the evenings and nights which is my worst time of day for feeling sick. York Peppermint Patties are still helping me out, but the most helpful has been my morning coffee. I'm pretty positive that is why I feel alright during the day. I originally cut coffee out when I found out I was pregnant because caffeine is something that I try to avoid in the first trimester (I was drinking 2-3 cups a day), but after deciding that I would allow myself just one cup in the mornings, I realized that I felt worlds better after drinking it. It helped not only with headaches, but also with nausea. Pretty weird, but I'll take it.
I'm about 10 1/2 weeks now so I'm not too far from the second trimester. I'm really looking forward to that Honeymoon Period, and I'll be greatly disappointed if it isn't as nice as it was the last two times. I'm also really looking forward to hopefully feeling our little Junebug move around soon! I felt Beckham at 17 weeks and Everett at 14 weeks, so I may start to feel this one in about a month which will also be about the time that we will be finding out what we are baking in there. So much to look forward to until Christmas!
I know I'm not even 11 weeks yet, but Junebug already has arms and legs; and by the end of this week, the outside ears will be fully developed! Junebug's eyes are also developing with eyelids that are beginning to cover them. And can you believe this?? Junebug is already starting to form tiny tooth buds!
Junebug is only measuring at about an inch right now, but he/she already has a functioning digestive tract and has developed defense mechanisms! Amazing!
So the main question has been, "Are you hoping for a girl?". Well the very obvious answer here is OF COURSE! With two boys already, a little girl would be fabulous; but really, all we truly want is a healthy and happy baby. I would rather have a handful of boys and never have a daughter than to have to watch my child struggle through life with any kind of illness or handicap. So in all honesty, I would never, ever ask God for a little girl, but yes, we would love to have a daughter.
So now the next question is... "What do you think you're having?". Well... I have no idea! Since I was a very young child, I always felt I would have two boys and a girl (in that order) and so far it has been playing out that way, so a part of me is telling me that it's a girl. BUT I keep having dreams that it is a boy and I keep calling it "him or he". So I guess I've been feeling like I'm baking another boy. However, I am really, really bad at this guessing game! I thought that both of my boys were girls, and I even had a ton of dreams when I was pregnant with Beckham that he was going to be a girl. I also felt strongly that my brother and sister were having boys and they both ended up with girls! And get this, my friend is now pregnant with twins and I felt so strongly that she was having a boy that I was completely convinced there was at least one penis in there, but NOPE! TWO girls! So please, never listen to me when I give my opinion on what gender you will have. As a matter of fact, just assume the opposite of what I feel is what you are carrying. So far, my predictions have been 100% wrong so you would think that I would just assume that I must be having a girl, right? Well I just can never let go of my gut feeling and this time it is telling me BOY! I am bound to be right at least once so I have to stick with what I feel. So there, I guess that's my final answer. Heh.
Here's a fun fact about me! By the time I have Baby #3 in 2012, I am going to have been pregnant for some part of every year for the last five years, 2008-2012!
I forgot to mention in my last post that Junebug's heart rate was 174bpm at my first appointment.
The best way to end my blog entry... Daddy Pics!
