So Much To Be Thankful For

when you have more than you ever dreamed!

Beckham's first Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now I'm here to write about it. But first, I have to tell you about what happened before Turkey Day!

The weekend before Thanksgiving was busy as usual. We hopped around to all of our parents' houses for family time and it was great... until... I noticed Beckham's nose starting to run late, Sunday evening and I began coughing and sneezing nonstop. Yep, we were both sick AGAIN!
Beckham ended up having a fever the following two days and I developed a cough that was like nothing I've ever had before. I was coughing so hard that not only was I constantly peeing my pants, but I was also throwing up. Fortunately, my sister Cherie' spent 3 nights with us and helped me out so much. She kept Beckham occupied while I was having coughing fits and he loved it. All he has to do is look at her and he smiles so big. I'm thankful she was there.

Joshua also took a day and a half off of work to help me. Because Beckham was also sick, he was waking up screaming every 30 minutes during the night and there was no way I was able to comfort him. Joshua took care of him all night long, every night until it stopped. After finally giving in and calling my doctor on Wednesday, I was told that I have Bronchitis and put on antibiotics. I noticed a huge difference the first couple of days but there's been no improvement since and I finished my antibiotics yesterday. Ugh. And although I'm better than when I started them, I'm still coughing bad enough to where I threw up my whole bowl of ramen noodles yesterday. Anyway, I don't think you want to hear about that.

So Thanksgiving was great! Beckham started feeling better just in time! His nose was a little runny but otherwise, he was looking good. We started off at my cousin's house on my dad's side. It's always nice to see them since we rarely do. Beckham even got to spend some time with his little cousin, Haidyn who is only four months older than him. They are so cute together!

We then went to my mom's house where we took our traditional family pics. Both pictures have more people in them this year!

Last, we went to Joshua's aunt and uncle's house to spend some quality time with his family. After eating a whole meal at the first two places, you wouldn't think I ate again but yep, I did! I'm still eating on that yummy turkey and I never go past my "2 day" rule.

Friday was a typical day at home, relaxing with the fam until we found something living in our towel closet... kittens! We let Alaska outside during the first week of October and Joshua has been since telling me she was pregnant, but I was in serious denial. The last thing I wanted was kittens! Cherie' convinced me that it was true when she slept over but I didn't expect them to come so soon. Thank God there's only two of them; but please, if you know anyone who wants one, send them my way!

Saturday, Cherie' slept over again and played with Beckham while Joshua and I set up our Christmas tree. It doesn't have many ornaments on it this year because we had to throw them all away last year after the cat destroyed them; and it's better this way so I don't have to worry about Beckham (or the cat) trying to play with them. Cherie' takes a picture of us in front of our tree every year but Beckham definitely adds something special to the pic this year.

Some things I forgot to mention about Beckham:

For the last month, Beckham has been dancing whenever ever he hears music or when Joshua beat boxes for him. This is something I have to get on video soon!

For the last couple of weeks, Beckham has been able to pick up food on his own and feed himself. He isn't eating table food yet, but I do give him Graduates Puffs to learn how to chew. Unless it gets sticky and stuck in his palm, he his able to put it in his own mouth.

Last week Beckham said "MaMa" for the first time without crying! He said it while crawling to me, and of course, it was so sweet.

When Beckham first started pulling himself up, he was taking little steps around the coffee table, but it's been a long while since he's done it until recently. He's now moving very well around the table.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Poor baby, I don't know how he's making it in there with all this coughing. He's still punching and kicking me really low; and he must be right on my bladder because I pee just about every time I cough. I really do have to change my pants once or twice a day, and I probably should be taking some with me when I leave the house. My cravings are out of control too. When I was pregnant for Beckham I never craved anything, but this time I crave so many things... candy bars, hummus, sushi, chocolate, pizza, and the list goes on. Like last time, I'm pretty grossed out by ground meat though and I also have a hard time eating grilled chicken. Overall, it amazes me how different this pregnancy is than my last one.

Beckham Is Going To Have A Little.....

!!! BROTHER !!!

I am so excited to announce that we are expecting another BABY BOY!
As soon as they showed his little weenie on the screen, I was able to see it! His measurements were great and the doctor said he looks perfect. They said he weighs about 10 ounces. I felt him kicking and moving through the entire ultrasound; and I also found out that from the way he is laying in me, it's his arms that I'm mostly feeling. He's been punching me up! After the ultrasound, I told my obgyn that I'm feeling him so much stronger than I felt Beckham and he said it's because Beckham recently stretched out my uterus and made a nice little home for him. Also, at my obgyn appointment, I weighed in at 130lbs which means I've gained a total of 5lbs so far. At this time for Beckham, I had already gained 15lbs! eek!

So... wondering what out newest little boy's name is???

EVERETT MATTHEW BREAUX

I have to mention... the cutest thing I've ever since Beckham do so far...
Today Joshua and I were sitting on the couch kissing each other (little pecks on the lips) over and over again as Beckham was watching us. He kept moving closer and closer until he reached us, smiled so big then opened his mouth wide onto both of ours to join in our kiss!! So sweet!

The Boogerbutt

The last time I wrote was Monday, November 2nd and Beckham was still feeling bad. He ended up having a fever that day and the next but got better soon after. That Tuesday was actually a rough day for him because was not only he sick, but he busted the inside of his mouth too. He was holding onto the coffee table while standing and fell sideways to the floor. When I picked him up, blood was pouring out of his mouth. The poor baby! He licked on some ice and the bleeding stopped immediately but I ended up having to throw my shirt away. No more accidents like that since then, thankfully.

On Friday, November 6th, Beckham rode in a shopping cart like a big boy for the first time! Of course he loved it!

Saturday, November 7th was the annual Marine Corps Ball in celebration of the Marine Corps birthday. It was only my second year going but so far I'm two for two as far as going to the ball pregnant. The ceremony is always a moving and beautiful experience. One day we'll be able to enjoy the actual party ;).

Despite his teething, Beckham has been doing really great. Now that I stay home with him regularly, he's on a much needed schedule. I get to spend so much quality time with him that I didn't before when we were running the streets. He's so active now that he really needs to be home to wander around anyway. And he's so funny! Whenever you call his name when he's crawling somewhere he knows he's not supposed to, he speeds up and laughs the whole way. He also thinks that eating is a game so he spits out his food and laughs when you tell him "no". And get this, he's already a little liar!! That's right, I called my son a liar! A few weeks ago, he suddenly decided that he no longer likes peas so he tried to trick me into thinking he was choking when I fed it to him. The night before, he gagged and choked overtime Joshua let him taste a new meat until he stopped giving it to him so Beckham thought that if he choked when I fed him peas I would stop too. And believe me, he wasn't choking. As soon as it touched his tongue, he started faking it and he did this for each bite until he realized that I was going to continue. Then he let me feed him a few bites until he decided he was not going to have it so he threw a fit. He's a booger already!

Beckham recently learned how to get back on the floor after pulling himself up. He used to fuss until someone helped him get back down or he would just fall backwards onto his butt. Now he slowly bends his knees while holding onto the object or table and reaching out one hand to the floor until he gets down. He's so careful about it for such a rough little boy.

Beckham says "da da" all the time now. He even crawled to Joshua one day when he got home from work and climbed on him while saying it. And when we ask him to say "ma ma", he says "da da"! The only time we ever hear him say "ma" is when he's crying.

This past Saturday I took Beckham's 7 month pictures. I also took some shots of him with Joshua and had Joshua take some of him and I. Below are a few but you can view them all at www.StaceyBreaux.com/sevenmonths.html.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Tomorrow is the big day!! I can't believe it's here already! If the baby cooperates then we should know what it is by 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon! The whole time I've been thinking it's a boy, but lately I've been calling it "she" so I'm so anxious to finally know. Most importantly, I'm praying to get some good news tomorrow that this is a healthy little baby I'm growing. It's so scary until you finally hear, "lookin' good!".

Baby Breaux is soooooo active! I feel him/her moving all day long so I know this one will be a little boogerbutt like Beckham. I'll really be getting my exercise when they're both walking!

Here's my most recent belly pic and you can view the rest at www.StaceyBreaux.com/bellypics.html.

Beckham's First Halloween

When I last wrote on Tuesday, Beckham was sick but starting to feel much better. Well, the very next day he was feeling bad again. His nose was leaking like a water faucet all throughout day and he was waking up repeatedly during the night. Because of this, I kept him home for the rest of the week so he would be better for Halloween and he was. He's too young to take anything other than Tylenol so I had a humidifier running all night and day hoping it would make a difference. By Friday, his nose was all dried up and I really thought he was ready to "trick or treat". I was even feeling so much better! I was barely coughing anymore and thought for sure it was the end of our colds.

Halloween was such a lovely day! The weather was perfect and Beckham was feeling well. I just wanted to be outside because it was so nice so that afternoon, Joshua, Beckham and I sat outside while Joshua carved a pumkin for Beckham. Beckham liked feeling the pumkin and he tried to eat it a couple times, but he got bored when he was only able to watch so Joshua brought his exersaucer outside for him to play in. One of the neighborhood kids hung out with us for a little while so we had him take a pic for us. When Joshua was done, we sat Beckham next to the pumkin so we could get a picture of him with his first pumpkin. He wanted to play with it and kept rolling it over! I just love my lil pumpkin!

Halloween night, we took him to a party at my dad's house. Joshua, Beckham and I went as members of the Scooby Doo cast. Joshua was Shaggy, I was Velma and Beckham was Scooby Doo! Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes and we all had a great time. Joshua and I took Beckham trick or treating with Kate and Theresa, Brandi & Louis and the girls, Danny & Toni and Maria, and Sam. We had a big gang going door to door, and it was so much fun. After a little while, I noticed Beckham's nose had started running again and he started getting a little fussy so some of us headed back to the party early.

As tired as Beckham was, he managed to stay up most of the night. He was crawling around a lot and pulling himself up on the coffee table. He even got his first bloody bo bo at the party! He was holding himself up on the coffee table and fell forward, busting the corner of his lip. Instead of a cry, he was making the strangest little animal squeal. I think he was just mostly scared, especially since everyone hurried around him. The next day, we could barely see his cut.

The next day, Beckham was in a great mood and looking well so we took him to Pet Fest to see all the animals. The weather was beautiful and so many people were there with their dogs. I can't wait for him to be able to walk around and play with them.

After Pet Fest, Joshua and I took Beckham to the River Walk where the above booth photos were taken. He was so funny in the photo booth! He was mesmerized by his image on the camera and stared at himself the whole time. Of course, he only smiled in between pictures!

Although the weekend was a lot of fun, I think we did too much again. Beckham was really sick when we went to bed last night and he woke up every 90 minutes screaming. We were thinking that maybe he had an ear infection but I haven't seen him grabbing at his ears or anything. Today he had a fever and wanted to be in my arms all day. He even took a couple of really long naps which is unusual for him. This time I'm keeping him home until I know he's better!

I'm even coughing like crazy again! This is horrible! Friday was the only day I went without coughing. How long can this last for?!

About four weeks ago, I took some Halloween pictures of Beckham to use for a greeting card and to have as his six month pics. I finally have them all up and ready to be viewed! You can see them at www.StaceyBreaux.com/sixmonths.html.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

I'm 17 weeks today and getting so close to the middle of my pregnancy. This past week, the lower back pain that I had in the very beginning has returned. I've also been having some other back pain that I didn't get until the very end of my last pregnancy. I just wish someone could walk on my back for me. The round ligament pain that I didn't get until I was about 6 months pregnant for Beckham has been getting me already for weeks now. It feels like cords popping in my belly, like the baby has come "undone"...lol. I know, it sounds weird but it feels even weirder! Whenever it happens, I jump because it feels like someone just poked me really hard in my stomach. It's crazy!

Some info about the baby: He/she is about 6 inches long already! The limps have all pretty much evened out and will now grow at the same rate. The baby is now able to react to sounds although the hearing is not fully developed. So amazing! And this little booger has been kicking me a lot! I love it!
