Beckham Meets Santa... Again and Again!

I hate when I get behind like this. I end up forgetting important things I wanted to write about. When I last wrote, we had just set up our Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving and now tomorrow is already Christmas Eve! I hope I can remember everything!

Well over the last three weeks, Beckham has sat on Santa's lap three times! But wait, he has one more turn to go! So far, he has cried every time but he lets us get a decent shot of him before he begins. The first time, we took him to the mall to take a picture of him sitting on Santa's lap with us for our Christmas card. He sat there for a while staring at Santa. He didn't start to cry until the two workers tried getting his attention to smile at the camera. Then he started with the pouty lip before the cry came. He looked so cute. The photographer was able to get a picture of him right as he started to cry and it looks like he's smiling!

The second time he sat on Santa's lap was at my mom's Christmas party for her daycare. The kids were already taking turns sitting on his lap when we walked in and Beckham was the last to go so he pretty much went straight to Santa. Beckham sat there for a long time before crying and kept looking up at Santa. When he started to pout, Santa handed him a gift and it quieted him down for a little while longer. Eventually he started pouting and saying, "Muuuum". Oh he's just so cute!

For years I've been taking my youngest brother and sister to Celebration In The Oaks so it's a big tradition for us. This year was so exciting because I finally got to take my little baby. They had a lot of rides and Beckham ended up getting scared of the roller coaster and the carousel. But this was the third time he got to sit on Santa's lap. This time as soon as he was seated on Santa's lap, he started crying and reaching for me. The photographer was great and grabbed his attention for a second to get a pic of him looking at the camera. I can't believe I still don't have a picture of him crying on Santa's lap!

Our family Christmas Eve party tomorrow night will be the fourth and final time this year that Beckham will be sitting on Santa's lap. This time I will get a pic of him crying!

A couple weeks ago, we had our annual Christmas gathering with my maternal grandfather. We were able to get a pic of all the kids together on the couch although it wasn't a very good one. Anyway, below is the pic of all 6 of my Paw Paw's great grandchildren.

Last week, I took him to The Monkey Room with my friend Crystal and her daughter J'Lynn. The place is set up as an indoor playground with a small section for babies. Beckham did so great playing there just as I knew he would. Once he felt comfortable, he was climbing and crawling everywhere by himself. He loved going down the slides but his favorite part was a big mirror they have set up at the top of the jungle gym... of course!

On Monday, Beckham cut another tooth! It's been about 2 1/2 months since he got one so I've been patiently waiting as he's been teething like hell. He got his upper left tooth and it shows really well when he smiles big. You can't see it any of the photos below but I just love his big smile in these pics.

Last night our dog, Bunny Boo was chewing on a bone and Beckham wanted it so bad. Every time he would put his hand near it, Bunny Boo would start growling so Beckham would look at me and whine. I caught some of it on video but I think it may be too dark to see anything, especially since Bunny Boo is black. Here it is anyway!

Beckham is so stubborn! Haha! Today he kept putting his hand in Joshua's mouth so Joshua was biting down on it to teach him to stop when he feels pain, but Beckham just kept sticking it back in! When he would feel a bite, he would pull it out, look at me and fuss; but then he would stick it back in again! He did this like 10 times until he finally gave up. I was able to catch the last couple times on video.

We've been trying to teach Beckham not to touch or play with certain things like outlets or dvd players, and he really is incredibly stubborn. He reaches for it and when he hears us say, "Don't touch!" he pulls his hand back before he touches it and cries. Then he slowly starts to move his hand back and we tell him again, and he does the same thing. He puts his hand down and cries. It's so adorable. He does it several times until he crawls away crying, but there are times when he never wants to give up.
Beckham is so quick at eating with his fingers now. He eats so fast and will eat hand fulls if I let him. He's also at that stage where he wants to put everything in his mouth. The other day I found a little, round bead in his mouth; and he loves to take bites out of paper. He even picks up pieces of hair off the carpet and tries to eat them! Dirty boy!

Beckham is saying "Mama" a lot now, but he still mostly says "Muuuuuuuum" when he's crying. One day the three of us were riding in the car and Beckham was in the backseat talking to himself and laughing. He would say, "Dada" and laugh and then say "Mama" and laugh. He's also starting to say "Hi" when he waves!

Beckham is a little monster in the bath tub! He can never sit still in there. He is always trying to crawl and roll around, and he tries to pull himself up on the side of the tub and play with the faucet. Bath time was a serious problem for me, especially with my growing belly. I would pretty much break my back trying to keep the boy from drowning. Finally, I bought one of those blow up bath ducks that you put in the tub and boy does it make a difference! Because it creates such a small place for Beckham to bathe, he now just sits there the whole time. I advise all mommies of little monsters to buy one of these!

A couple weeks ago I took some pictures of Beckham in a santa suit that his Nonna bought him. He just wanted to grab the camera the whole time but I was still able to get some decent shots. When I was taking the santa suit off of him after the photoshoot, he puked all over it! And I don't just mean a little spit up... he really puked! I think I accidentally choked him with it when I was getting it over his head :(. You can view all the photos at www.StaceyBreaux.com/eightmonths.html.

Speaking of pictures, Joshua, Beckham and I went to a portrait studio to have some family pics taken along with some studio shots of Beckham for Christmas. I have a couple posted below but they're blurry because they were saved off the website. Once I get my copies in, I can scan and repost them.

I have a couple videos of Beckham being silly from a few weeks ago. In the first video, he had just gotten done eating and was make funny faces and sounds while saying "dada". In the second video, he waves and says "dad".

Some pics of my sleepy boys:

About Baby Breaux #2:

Everett must have recently gone through a big growth spurt because the movement is so strong! Before I was just feeling kicks and punches, but now it feels like he's rolling around in there. I'm also able to see the movement from the outside now. He should be over a foot long now and weighing over a pound! I feel like my belly (and everything else) has grown quite a bit too. We had our last appointment on December 15th and I went in weighing 134lbs which means I gained a total of 9lbs so far. Everett's heartbeat was still fast, beating at 160bpm. I can't believe I'm getting so close to meeting him.... less than 4 months to go!

As far as how I've been feeling... let's just say that I feel like I'm in the third trimester although I'm still not quite there yet. I'm feeling so much weight and pressure low in my stomach. It feels like Everett is sitting right on my bladder too and I'm going to the bathroom every 15 minutes with barely anything coming out. During the night, I wake up to pee about 5-10 times, varying from night to night. No exaggeration! I've also been having a lot of acid reflux which I didn't get until the third trimester for Beckham. I'm still having terrible cravings too, and I feel like I'm always tired even when I'm well rested. After being pregnant for almost a year and half straight, I'm finally getting tired of it. As much as I love pregnancy, I didn't think I'd ever say that.

Here are some pics of Everett! The first is his profile which we think looks a lot different than Beckham's did. The second is a pic of his booty and penis... definitely a boy!

So Much To Be Thankful For

when you have more than you ever dreamed!

Beckham's first Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now I'm here to write about it. But first, I have to tell you about what happened before Turkey Day!

The weekend before Thanksgiving was busy as usual. We hopped around to all of our parents' houses for family time and it was great... until... I noticed Beckham's nose starting to run late, Sunday evening and I began coughing and sneezing nonstop. Yep, we were both sick AGAIN!
Beckham ended up having a fever the following two days and I developed a cough that was like nothing I've ever had before. I was coughing so hard that not only was I constantly peeing my pants, but I was also throwing up. Fortunately, my sister Cherie' spent 3 nights with us and helped me out so much. She kept Beckham occupied while I was having coughing fits and he loved it. All he has to do is look at her and he smiles so big. I'm thankful she was there.

Joshua also took a day and a half off of work to help me. Because Beckham was also sick, he was waking up screaming every 30 minutes during the night and there was no way I was able to comfort him. Joshua took care of him all night long, every night until it stopped. After finally giving in and calling my doctor on Wednesday, I was told that I have Bronchitis and put on antibiotics. I noticed a huge difference the first couple of days but there's been no improvement since and I finished my antibiotics yesterday. Ugh. And although I'm better than when I started them, I'm still coughing bad enough to where I threw up my whole bowl of ramen noodles yesterday. Anyway, I don't think you want to hear about that.

So Thanksgiving was great! Beckham started feeling better just in time! His nose was a little runny but otherwise, he was looking good. We started off at my cousin's house on my dad's side. It's always nice to see them since we rarely do. Beckham even got to spend some time with his little cousin, Haidyn who is only four months older than him. They are so cute together!

We then went to my mom's house where we took our traditional family pics. Both pictures have more people in them this year!

Last, we went to Joshua's aunt and uncle's house to spend some quality time with his family. After eating a whole meal at the first two places, you wouldn't think I ate again but yep, I did! I'm still eating on that yummy turkey and I never go past my "2 day" rule.

Friday was a typical day at home, relaxing with the fam until we found something living in our towel closet... kittens! We let Alaska outside during the first week of October and Joshua has been since telling me she was pregnant, but I was in serious denial. The last thing I wanted was kittens! Cherie' convinced me that it was true when she slept over but I didn't expect them to come so soon. Thank God there's only two of them; but please, if you know anyone who wants one, send them my way!

Saturday, Cherie' slept over again and played with Beckham while Joshua and I set up our Christmas tree. It doesn't have many ornaments on it this year because we had to throw them all away last year after the cat destroyed them; and it's better this way so I don't have to worry about Beckham (or the cat) trying to play with them. Cherie' takes a picture of us in front of our tree every year but Beckham definitely adds something special to the pic this year.

Some things I forgot to mention about Beckham:

For the last month, Beckham has been dancing whenever ever he hears music or when Joshua beat boxes for him. This is something I have to get on video soon!

For the last couple of weeks, Beckham has been able to pick up food on his own and feed himself. He isn't eating table food yet, but I do give him Graduates Puffs to learn how to chew. Unless it gets sticky and stuck in his palm, he his able to put it in his own mouth.

Last week Beckham said "MaMa" for the first time without crying! He said it while crawling to me, and of course, it was so sweet.

When Beckham first started pulling himself up, he was taking little steps around the coffee table, but it's been a long while since he's done it until recently. He's now moving very well around the table.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Poor baby, I don't know how he's making it in there with all this coughing. He's still punching and kicking me really low; and he must be right on my bladder because I pee just about every time I cough. I really do have to change my pants once or twice a day, and I probably should be taking some with me when I leave the house. My cravings are out of control too. When I was pregnant for Beckham I never craved anything, but this time I crave so many things... candy bars, hummus, sushi, chocolate, pizza, and the list goes on. Like last time, I'm pretty grossed out by ground meat though and I also have a hard time eating grilled chicken. Overall, it amazes me how different this pregnancy is than my last one.

Beckham Is Going To Have A Little.....

!!! BROTHER !!!

I am so excited to announce that we are expecting another BABY BOY!
As soon as they showed his little weenie on the screen, I was able to see it! His measurements were great and the doctor said he looks perfect. They said he weighs about 10 ounces. I felt him kicking and moving through the entire ultrasound; and I also found out that from the way he is laying in me, it's his arms that I'm mostly feeling. He's been punching me up! After the ultrasound, I told my obgyn that I'm feeling him so much stronger than I felt Beckham and he said it's because Beckham recently stretched out my uterus and made a nice little home for him. Also, at my obgyn appointment, I weighed in at 130lbs which means I've gained a total of 5lbs so far. At this time for Beckham, I had already gained 15lbs! eek!

So... wondering what out newest little boy's name is???

EVERETT MATTHEW BREAUX

I have to mention... the cutest thing I've ever since Beckham do so far...
Today Joshua and I were sitting on the couch kissing each other (little pecks on the lips) over and over again as Beckham was watching us. He kept moving closer and closer until he reached us, smiled so big then opened his mouth wide onto both of ours to join in our kiss!! So sweet!

The Boogerbutt

The last time I wrote was Monday, November 2nd and Beckham was still feeling bad. He ended up having a fever that day and the next but got better soon after. That Tuesday was actually a rough day for him because was not only he sick, but he busted the inside of his mouth too. He was holding onto the coffee table while standing and fell sideways to the floor. When I picked him up, blood was pouring out of his mouth. The poor baby! He licked on some ice and the bleeding stopped immediately but I ended up having to throw my shirt away. No more accidents like that since then, thankfully.

On Friday, November 6th, Beckham rode in a shopping cart like a big boy for the first time! Of course he loved it!

Saturday, November 7th was the annual Marine Corps Ball in celebration of the Marine Corps birthday. It was only my second year going but so far I'm two for two as far as going to the ball pregnant. The ceremony is always a moving and beautiful experience. One day we'll be able to enjoy the actual party ;).

Despite his teething, Beckham has been doing really great. Now that I stay home with him regularly, he's on a much needed schedule. I get to spend so much quality time with him that I didn't before when we were running the streets. He's so active now that he really needs to be home to wander around anyway. And he's so funny! Whenever you call his name when he's crawling somewhere he knows he's not supposed to, he speeds up and laughs the whole way. He also thinks that eating is a game so he spits out his food and laughs when you tell him "no". And get this, he's already a little liar!! That's right, I called my son a liar! A few weeks ago, he suddenly decided that he no longer likes peas so he tried to trick me into thinking he was choking when I fed it to him. The night before, he gagged and choked overtime Joshua let him taste a new meat until he stopped giving it to him so Beckham thought that if he choked when I fed him peas I would stop too. And believe me, he wasn't choking. As soon as it touched his tongue, he started faking it and he did this for each bite until he realized that I was going to continue. Then he let me feed him a few bites until he decided he was not going to have it so he threw a fit. He's a booger already!

Beckham recently learned how to get back on the floor after pulling himself up. He used to fuss until someone helped him get back down or he would just fall backwards onto his butt. Now he slowly bends his knees while holding onto the object or table and reaching out one hand to the floor until he gets down. He's so careful about it for such a rough little boy.

Beckham says "da da" all the time now. He even crawled to Joshua one day when he got home from work and climbed on him while saying it. And when we ask him to say "ma ma", he says "da da"! The only time we ever hear him say "ma" is when he's crying.

This past Saturday I took Beckham's 7 month pictures. I also took some shots of him with Joshua and had Joshua take some of him and I. Below are a few but you can view them all at www.StaceyBreaux.com/sevenmonths.html.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Tomorrow is the big day!! I can't believe it's here already! If the baby cooperates then we should know what it is by 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon! The whole time I've been thinking it's a boy, but lately I've been calling it "she" so I'm so anxious to finally know. Most importantly, I'm praying to get some good news tomorrow that this is a healthy little baby I'm growing. It's so scary until you finally hear, "lookin' good!".

Baby Breaux is soooooo active! I feel him/her moving all day long so I know this one will be a little boogerbutt like Beckham. I'll really be getting my exercise when they're both walking!

Here's my most recent belly pic and you can view the rest at www.StaceyBreaux.com/bellypics.html.
