I'm Finally Back!!

My little boy is 5 months old already, and he has been quite a busy man. I last wrote the day before we left for Florida and a lot has happened since then. We left on August 16th and returned on the 21st. I know, I've been home for a while without writing! The pregnancy is catching up with me and slowing me down a bit, but I'll get to all that at the end of the blog. For now let me catch you up on Baby Beckham...

First, let me tell you that Florida was a blast! Beckham thoroughly enjoyed Panama City Beach and his family really enjoyed being able to spend the entire week with him. Joshua's sister, Tasha and her husband, Frank flew in from San Diego the day before we left, and we all drove together in a van to Florida (including Joshua's parents). The ride there was a little hard on me because I started feeling nauseated. I can't say if it was morning sickness or just my usual motion sickness, but I slept most of the ride which made it easier. I can definitely say though that the morning sickness did appear once I was in Florida. I just hit 6 weeks and I was feeling sick in the mornings before breakfast. However, it wasn't bad and I was still able to enjoy myself.

Beckham was so cute when we took him out to the beach. We stood him in the sand and his little toes starting wiggling around because of the strange texture between them. Gene set up a tent for him to sleep in but he spent most of the time laying on Donna's shoulder. He slept really well out there! When he was up in the condo, he loved watching the beach from the windows and the balcony. I can't wait to bring him back when he's old enough to play in the sand. You can view pictures from our trip at www.StaceyBreaux.com/floridapics.html.

The night before we left, Joshua, Beckham and I took some family photos on the beach. We got Frank to take most of them for us, but Tasha took a few too. As soon as we got down to the beach, Beckham fell asleep. I was not having it! I needed these pictures before I got huge and my highlights grew down to my shoulders. So we took a few shots with Beckham asleep then Joshua threw him in the air and he woke up. I know it sounds kind of harsh, but Beckham loved it and immediately started smiling and laughing. In between shots, Joshua would pretend to drop him and he would make the biggest smiles. Then Joshua would quickly face him to the camera and I would get in close and smile. LOL. It actually worked out really well and the pictures turned out great! You can view them all at www.StaceyBreaux.com/familyphotos.html.

While we were in Florida, Beckham started doing something new! He learned how to get completely on his knees and rock. After rocking, he would throw himself forward until he was able to get to his toys. I was impressed! Since then, he's learned how to scoot himself much better. He gets on his knees, rocks and drags his legs forward now. Below is a video of him doing this earlier today.

Last Tuesday I brought Beckham to the baby group where I was surprised to find that he only gained 3oz in two weeks. He weighed 14lbs 11oz. His eating schedule was a little screwy while we were on vacation so I'm hoping to see a much bigger change at tomorrow's group now that he has been eating better again. I think the last time I wrote he had only eaten sweet potatoes. Now he eats carrots, green beans, peas and he just started on squash today. Of the veggies, carrots is by far his favorite. He really loves eating baby food. He opens his mouth really wide for it and whines when he runs out. I once tried to give him more and he ate it all but refused to take his bottle, so now he just has to whine until I put the bottle in his mouth. haha!

Last week, Beckham found something... his PENIS! Yes, he found it already! He grabs it when I'm changing his diapers and it's so icky! The first time he did it, he smiled at me so big like he knew he found something special. haha! His hands are also attached to his feet now. He found his feet a long time ago but now he's at a point where he can't let go of them. He even sucks on his toes sometimes which I must admit is so darn cute.

What is not so darn cute is Beckham's new refusal to take naps. Monday, he went the entire day without so much as taking even a cat nap! It wouldn't be so bad if he would still be happy and play the whole time, but no. When he's tired and fighting it, he throws crazy fits which make me crazy! The little booger wants to be up and going all the time but his little body can't handle it. When he gets too weak to continue the fit, he makes a loud noise and continuously hits me or whatever he's laying by to help keep him awake. He did do much better with his naps today so I'm hoping these fits will end soon. I just don't have the energy for that!

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

I'm 8 weeks today and everything is going great! I had my first ultrasound on Friday, the 28th and we had a wonderful, strong heartbeat, and everything measured up perfectly. My doctor was very excited to see me again, and he kissed me on the cheek to congratulate us. He said that when he first saw my name on the list, he thought it was an "oopsie" and that he was relieved to learn from the nurse that the pregnancy was planned. I'm so excited to be starting this journey over again, and it felt so good to visit my doctor. Of course, it feels amazing to see that everything is going well but I also felt at home in his office, like I belonged there. After all, I just spent 9 months there! 4 more weeks until my next appointment!

As I mentioned above, the morning sickness started kicking in at 6 weeks and has continued to get worse. However, it's not nearly as bad as it was for Beckham which I am so grateful for. I get sick in the morning before I eat and sporadically throughout the day. I'm having trouble eating again like I did the first time, and I can tell that I will have a lot of food aversions again.

The lower back pain only last a couple weeks so I haven't felt that in a while, but another thing that I have been experiencing that is also different from my first pregnancy is dizziness. I am dizzy everyday, all day. It makes me feel like I have a permanent hangover! I have also been extremely tired. This is my biggest symptom so far and it effects me the most. I still have to keep my energy up while I'm playing with Beckham which can be excruciating when he refuses to take a nap. I'm already tired as hell, and he throws fits when he's fighting his sleep. When he does allow himself to nap, I'm still not able to recooperate because I have insomnia which is another one of my symptoms that I didn't have before. I'm unable to take naps or sleep at night. It's like a nightmare! Right now, I am dreaming of the second trimester when everything is smoothe sailing. aaahhhh.....

So I know it's early and I have no idea if I'm having a boy or a girl, but I'm buying a baby girl bedding set tomorrow! The only reason why I'm buying it now instead of waiting until I know the gender is because it's more than 50% off and it's being discontinued. I can't find another girl bedding set that I like so I'm scared of missing the opportunity to have this one which I love. I figure that if I'm having another boy then I can just save it for a future baby or sell it. It has a the floral, vintage look that I picked out the first time if I was having a girl, but that bedding was discontiued too. Check out the pic below!

Since I haven't updated the blog in over two weeks, I am seriously behind with belly pics. BUT, I have them for you today! All 3! And woah, I have a little belly going on. The bloating has been out of control as it was the first time, and my belly is growing growing growing! I haven't even tried on my jeans in weeks because I just know that I won't be able to button them. I was really hoping to be able to stay out of maternity clothes until the second trimester, but it looks as though my body is totally ready to pop again. I've just been wearing a lot of dresses and bummy clothes to keep from the dreaded maternity clothes. I know people think they're confortable but I totally disagree. I hated them! Anyway.... here's my last Belly Pic and you can see the other 2 that you missed and compare them all at www.StaceyBreaux.com/bellypics.html.

Beckzilla Attacks His Toys

Beckham now weighs 14lbs 8oz (as of Tuesday). So he has gained 6oz since last Tuesday. I really thought he would have gained more than that since he was eating solid foods for that whole week, but as usual he's a slow gainer. He's still looking more chubby to me! Pics from Tuesday below!

As you can see, he has a lot of toys on his carrier. Well today at Target, an older lady told me that she couldn't see him because of all "that stuff". LOL. Speaking of the toys on his carrier, he has really been loving the toy bar... or maybe hating on it. He's been very aggressive with those toys! He's been growling at them and hitting them so hard that they spin wildly. It's so fun to watch!

Thursday, I finally got a chance to take his 4 month pictures. It's been raining everyday for what feels like forever and we finally got a couple days of sunny skies so I took advantage of it. Joshua and I took him to Audubon Park and sat him in front of a little pond there. He sat up by himself the whole time I took his pictures! These are my favorite pictures of him so far so I'm so excited to share them with you. You can view them by clicking the link on the right side of the page that says, "Beckham's 4 Month Pics" or by going to www.StaceyBreaux.com/fourmonths.html.

On Wednesday and Friday I got together with Kate to take her maternity pics. She only has 4 weeks left until Theresa arrives so we really needed to get the pictures done ASAP! Gabe joined us on Friday so I was able to get some nice shots of them together. You can view those photos at www.StaceyBreaux.com/katematernity.html.

A lot of the week, I stayed home with Beckham and it was so nice. I love spending one on one time with him. He gets so excited when his Daddy gets home from work too. His face lights up as soon as he hears his voice!

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

The day after tomorrow I will be 6 weeks pregnant. I remember writing my post for my last pregnancy when I was six weeks. I just can't believe it's been over two weeks since I found out I'm pregnant again. My first ultrasound is in only two weeks!! Because I'm so consumed with Beckham, I sometimes forget that there's another baby growing in me. It really seems surreal at this point. I'm really looking forward to the ultrasound because I think that once I see my little bean, it will hit me hard and feel more real.

The morning sickness (aka all day sickness) has been slowly starting to revisit. The last couple of days I've been feeling some slight nausea along with dizzy spells. Mostly, I just have a sick feeling in my stomach. I've also been having some odd cramps that I don't remember having the first time, but so much has happened since then that I doubt I remember everything anyway.

Joshua, Beckham and I are leaving with my in-laws for Florida tomorrow morning so I'm praying that the morning sickness doesn't get worse, at least until we get home Friday. This will be Beckham's first time at the beach so Joshua and I are extremely excited. I'll have to take my belly pic while I'm out there so I'll have it for you when I return. By the way, the bloating has gotten increasingly worse over this last week so I think there should be a noticeable difference with my new belly pic on Monday. Perfect time for me to be running around in a bikini!!

Well toodle-loo, everyone! I'll write again when I get back and flood you all with pictures of Beckham at the beach!

Yummy In The Tummy

After I worked on my blog Tuesday night, I decided to start Beckham on solid foods! We are going to start with veggies and only give him one new one a week to make sure he doesn't have any allergies like his mommy. So Tuesday we fed him sweet potatoes! First, I tried to feed him rice cereal with the spoon (he's been having it in his bottles for 1 1/2 months), but he totally refused to eat it. That was when I decided to give him the sweet potatoes. He loved it! When we tried giving him the cereal, he screamed the whole time and made the "yuck" face, but for the sweet potatoes he was opening his mouth and the tears stopped. He ate them all last week and all was well so today I started him on green beans for the first time. He seemed to like that one as well and ate it all up. I've also been giving him oatmeal, but I'm not really sure if he likes it or not. He makes the "yuck" face and spits it out a lot but he still eats the whole bowl. I guess I'll have to keep testing it out on him. Below is a pic of him crying when we were trying to feed him cereal and some pics of him eating sweet potatoes for the first time.

On Thursday I brought Beckham with me to lunch with my dad and Robin, and I made a big mistake... I forgot his diaper bag!! I'm used to carrying the diaper bag and Beckham in his carrier to the car at the same time, but because I'm pregnant I now have a different routine. I now have to put the carrier in the car first and then carry Beckham and the diaper bag after. This was one of my first times doing this and I already forgot something. Now I learned that the diaper bag goes in the car first! It wouldn't have been such a problem because I keep a spare diaper back with diapers and wipes in my car, but he was due to eat right when I got there! I had to leave him there and run to three different nearby stores to buy baby food and a spoon. Ugh, I'll never make that mistake again!

Friday was my cousin, Natalie's house warming party. She bought a beautiful condo in the warehouse district and the whole family got together to see it. Of course when Beckham gets together with his cousin, Athens I have to take pics!

On Saturday, Joshua and I stayed home with the baby for an entire day for the first time in... well, I can't even remember. Beckham was in the best mood and we had so much fun with him. He learned how to make himself scream that day and did it all day long. He loved listening to himself! I have a video of him doing it below!

Beckham also took his first step on Saturday!

Just kidding!!!! Beckham is not some kind of super baby! Joshua stood him up and let go of him for a second for me to take a photo. HAHA! But seriously, he has been doing great sitting up. He sits up for a good while now so I was able to get some nice shots of that.

On Saturday, Beckham also started doing something else! He started sticking his tongue waaay out, and he also was doing this all day and continues to do it everyday now. It's so cute!... except for when I'm trying to feed him!

Okay, Saturday was a busy day! That day we also cut the back of Beckham's hair. Joshua has been begging me to let him do it since we took him home from the hospital, and Beckham's hair had finally gotten too long so I agreed it should be trimmed. He used clippers and Beckham didn't even know what was happening. Ah, it looks so much better!

BEFORE:

AFTER:
Sunday was Sam's baby shower! Kate and I were so pleased with the way it came out, and I think Sam was opening gifts longer than I was at my shower! She had an amazing turn out and looked as though she had a great time too. I can't wait to go to her house soon to check out all of her goodies!

Some more photos from the past week!

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

I'm 5 weeks today! According to my ticker, Baby breaux already has more brain cells than Paris Hilton! Wow!

Growth this week is focused on Baby Breaux's head which is growing more rapidly than the rest of his/her body. Aw, my little seahorse!

As for me, I'm feeling great! With the exception of some bloating, I haven't had too many symptoms, and I've actually been having way more energy. I'm loving this pregnancy so far!

My Belly Pic is ready for you right on time! You can go to www.staceybreaux.com/bellypics.html to view last week's and this week's together to see if you notice any changes yet. I know it's early but people claim that you show sooner with your second, and I showed really early with my first. I'm not noticing anything yet and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just a myth!

Beckham Is...

going to be a BIG BROTHER!!

On Thursday, July 30th, Joshua and I learned that we are now expecting our second baby! And yes, we planned it. And no, we're not crazy! I am so happy to be able to share with you another journey through pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Beckham, we wanted to wait a while before telling everyone in fear that something would go wrong. With this one, I want to share my story from the very beginning, good or bad. Of course, it will all be good though! So my expected date of delivery is April 12, 2010 which means that I am 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant.

Yesterday I went to see my primary care physician to get a referral to see my obgyn. I remember the last time I did that with my first pregnancy one year ago... they do a pregnancy test and I was so scared the doctor would come back in the room and tell me the test was negative that I cried when she came back and told me it was positive. This time I took a test before I went! And one everyday before that since Thursday! Haha! We are so freakin' excited to be making Beckham a big brother already! I feel that the best gift you can give your child other than your unconditional love is a sibling, and I'm thrilled to be able to give that to Beckham so early in his life. He's going to be an amazing brother.

Just as I did with my first pregnancy, I plan to write about everything I experience. So far, I've been really tired most days, I had some cramping last week, my boobies are already getting fuller (I was talking about it with Kate and Robin before I even knew I was pregnant!), and today I started getting the worst lower back pain imaginable. I felt this back pain the last two weeks of my last pregnancy but never this early. Kate complained of this early on in her pregnancy and now it seems that I'll be going through what she did. It's awful!!

So since I plan to be as dedicated in sharing this experience with you as I was the first time, I have no choice but to post my Belly Pics. Ah! I really didn't like taking belly pics the first time because I had to get all dressed in my little pink outfit, take a bunch of different shots, then go through them all on the computer to see which one had the right angle to match the others, then I had to add the text to the photo and post it. Ugh, a lot of work for one little pic! But anyway, I have to do it again or I'll regret it. So here it is:

When I went to the doctor yesterday, the scale read 125lbs when they weighed me. OMG! That's 10lbs more than I weighed when I got pregnant the first time! This means that I may end up weighing over 155lbs this time but I'm really really going to try to eat healthier this time. Anyhoo, my starting weight is 125lbs! My first prenatal appointment is scheduled for August 28th and last time I gained about 8lbs by the time of that visit. Let's see what happens this time.
Alright, enough of that. On to my beautiful little boy!...

Last Tuesday, Beckham weighed 13lbs 9oz at the baby group which means that not only did he not gain weight, but he lost 2 oz! It's eh okay though because today he weighed 14lbs 2oz at the baby group. :)

After the baby group last week, I brought Beckham to his four month appointment where he got two shots. My poor baby held a silent scream for so long that I wasn't sure if he would breathe again! The whole next day he was in a poopy mood and needed to be in my arms every minute. I even had to do all of my house chores with him in my arms. But I didn't mind because he's a cutie patootie. Now I know to make sure I don't schedule anything for the day after his shots! He goes back in two months for three more... aaaah!

Thursday, I found out that I'm pregnant!! I took one of Sam's leftover tests when I woke up in the morning and a faint line appeared immediately. Still, because it was a blue dye test which tend to be faulty, I had to run to the store to get some pink dye ones just to be sure! I left the base forgetting that I had an expired break tag, that my decal to get back on base was gone and that my military ID was at home! It was the first time that I drove my car in over a month because it had some problems so I forgot about these things. So because of all this, I wasn't able to get back on base and Joshua had to take the ferry from his work back to our base and walk to the front gate to get me on. First, I had to get a break tag and of course, the pregnancy tests. Finally, I got home and tested and wah-lah - BIG FAT POSITIVE! Beckham and I then drove Joshie to work where we stayed for lunch. There, was the first time I ever saw Beckham reach out for someone. A lady who worked with Joshua was holding him and he reached his arms out to his daddy while crying. It was so cute!

That night, we dressed Beckham in a onesie that read, "Beckham Is Going To Be A Big Brother" (pictured above). I preordered it just in case I got pregnant during the three months we planned to try (we got it on the first try, by the way!). We then brought him to each of our parents houses and waited for them to read his shirt. It was so much fun when they all noticed it and it was the perfect way to tell them.

Friday, Joshua, Beckham and I went to a baby shower on the base for one of the Marine wives. It was at my friend, Amanda's house so Beckham was able to play with Ariel's toys. He hung out in her jumper for a while, playing with the toys on it before he started eating it.

On Saturday, we brought Beckham to my cousin's son's birthday party. His name is Avery and he turned 3 years old. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them together! grrrr! Avery had a hummer to match his Grandma's and we put Beckham in it. He was playing with the steering wheel, holding it like he was driving.

That night, Joshie really wanted to go bowling because my dad put it in his head and he just couldn't get it out. Most people who know me well know that I have a strange fear of bowling alleys and it's just a place that I don't go to (the sound and smell of the place are like nails on a chalkboard to me!). Since I had Beckham, I've been wanting to conquer this fear of mine because I want to be able to take him bowling when he's old enough. So, I decided to go with the guys. Surprisingly, it didn't bother me! And Beckham got to go to the bowling alley for the first time. I took a picture of him in front of the lanes but it was midnight bowling and they turned the lights out so it's really dark in the picture.

On Sunday, we took Beckham to visit his Nonna and Pa-pah. Gene got a new boat so both he and Donna took Beckham to play on it and they got some cute pictures. He looks so old in these photos!

Donna has this thing that we call a "wedge" (maybe it's really called that) at her house from when she used to babysit a little boy who had acid reflux, and she put Beckham on it to watch TV. He loved it! He was cracking up while watching Wonder Pets and playing Peek-A-Boo with Donna. I thought he looked like a bug on a windshield but it was still so cute. lol. Watch a video of it below!

Yesterday I took some pictures of Joshua playing with Beckham when he got home from work. He's such a fun daddy!

Today Beckham rolled over from his back to his belly for the first time!! Of course, the little booger did it while I was in the shower! It's like he doesn't want me to know what he can do. Joshua said he did it a couple of times too. The last couple of days I noticed that he was getting very close to doing it so I'm happy that he finally made it all the way over.
