Beckham Is...

going to be a BIG BROTHER!!

On Thursday, July 30th, Joshua and I learned that we are now expecting our second baby! And yes, we planned it. And no, we're not crazy! I am so happy to be able to share with you another journey through pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Beckham, we wanted to wait a while before telling everyone in fear that something would go wrong. With this one, I want to share my story from the very beginning, good or bad. Of course, it will all be good though! So my expected date of delivery is April 12, 2010 which means that I am 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant.

Yesterday I went to see my primary care physician to get a referral to see my obgyn. I remember the last time I did that with my first pregnancy one year ago... they do a pregnancy test and I was so scared the doctor would come back in the room and tell me the test was negative that I cried when she came back and told me it was positive. This time I took a test before I went! And one everyday before that since Thursday! Haha! We are so freakin' excited to be making Beckham a big brother already! I feel that the best gift you can give your child other than your unconditional love is a sibling, and I'm thrilled to be able to give that to Beckham so early in his life. He's going to be an amazing brother.

Just as I did with my first pregnancy, I plan to write about everything I experience. So far, I've been really tired most days, I had some cramping last week, my boobies are already getting fuller (I was talking about it with Kate and Robin before I even knew I was pregnant!), and today I started getting the worst lower back pain imaginable. I felt this back pain the last two weeks of my last pregnancy but never this early. Kate complained of this early on in her pregnancy and now it seems that I'll be going through what she did. It's awful!!

So since I plan to be as dedicated in sharing this experience with you as I was the first time, I have no choice but to post my Belly Pics. Ah! I really didn't like taking belly pics the first time because I had to get all dressed in my little pink outfit, take a bunch of different shots, then go through them all on the computer to see which one had the right angle to match the others, then I had to add the text to the photo and post it. Ugh, a lot of work for one little pic! But anyway, I have to do it again or I'll regret it. So here it is:

When I went to the doctor yesterday, the scale read 125lbs when they weighed me. OMG! That's 10lbs more than I weighed when I got pregnant the first time! This means that I may end up weighing over 155lbs this time but I'm really really going to try to eat healthier this time. Anyhoo, my starting weight is 125lbs! My first prenatal appointment is scheduled for August 28th and last time I gained about 8lbs by the time of that visit. Let's see what happens this time.
Alright, enough of that. On to my beautiful little boy!...

Last Tuesday, Beckham weighed 13lbs 9oz at the baby group which means that not only did he not gain weight, but he lost 2 oz! It's eh okay though because today he weighed 14lbs 2oz at the baby group. :)

After the baby group last week, I brought Beckham to his four month appointment where he got two shots. My poor baby held a silent scream for so long that I wasn't sure if he would breathe again! The whole next day he was in a poopy mood and needed to be in my arms every minute. I even had to do all of my house chores with him in my arms. But I didn't mind because he's a cutie patootie. Now I know to make sure I don't schedule anything for the day after his shots! He goes back in two months for three more... aaaah!

Thursday, I found out that I'm pregnant!! I took one of Sam's leftover tests when I woke up in the morning and a faint line appeared immediately. Still, because it was a blue dye test which tend to be faulty, I had to run to the store to get some pink dye ones just to be sure! I left the base forgetting that I had an expired break tag, that my decal to get back on base was gone and that my military ID was at home! It was the first time that I drove my car in over a month because it had some problems so I forgot about these things. So because of all this, I wasn't able to get back on base and Joshua had to take the ferry from his work back to our base and walk to the front gate to get me on. First, I had to get a break tag and of course, the pregnancy tests. Finally, I got home and tested and wah-lah - BIG FAT POSITIVE! Beckham and I then drove Joshie to work where we stayed for lunch. There, was the first time I ever saw Beckham reach out for someone. A lady who worked with Joshua was holding him and he reached his arms out to his daddy while crying. It was so cute!

That night, we dressed Beckham in a onesie that read, "Beckham Is Going To Be A Big Brother" (pictured above). I preordered it just in case I got pregnant during the three months we planned to try (we got it on the first try, by the way!). We then brought him to each of our parents houses and waited for them to read his shirt. It was so much fun when they all noticed it and it was the perfect way to tell them.

Friday, Joshua, Beckham and I went to a baby shower on the base for one of the Marine wives. It was at my friend, Amanda's house so Beckham was able to play with Ariel's toys. He hung out in her jumper for a while, playing with the toys on it before he started eating it.

On Saturday, we brought Beckham to my cousin's son's birthday party. His name is Avery and he turned 3 years old. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them together! grrrr! Avery had a hummer to match his Grandma's and we put Beckham in it. He was playing with the steering wheel, holding it like he was driving.

That night, Joshie really wanted to go bowling because my dad put it in his head and he just couldn't get it out. Most people who know me well know that I have a strange fear of bowling alleys and it's just a place that I don't go to (the sound and smell of the place are like nails on a chalkboard to me!). Since I had Beckham, I've been wanting to conquer this fear of mine because I want to be able to take him bowling when he's old enough. So, I decided to go with the guys. Surprisingly, it didn't bother me! And Beckham got to go to the bowling alley for the first time. I took a picture of him in front of the lanes but it was midnight bowling and they turned the lights out so it's really dark in the picture.

On Sunday, we took Beckham to visit his Nonna and Pa-pah. Gene got a new boat so both he and Donna took Beckham to play on it and they got some cute pictures. He looks so old in these photos!

Donna has this thing that we call a "wedge" (maybe it's really called that) at her house from when she used to babysit a little boy who had acid reflux, and she put Beckham on it to watch TV. He loved it! He was cracking up while watching Wonder Pets and playing Peek-A-Boo with Donna. I thought he looked like a bug on a windshield but it was still so cute. lol. Watch a video of it below!

Yesterday I took some pictures of Joshua playing with Beckham when he got home from work. He's such a fun daddy!

Today Beckham rolled over from his back to his belly for the first time!! Of course, the little booger did it while I was in the shower! It's like he doesn't want me to know what he can do. Joshua said he did it a couple of times too. The last couple of days I noticed that he was getting very close to doing it so I'm happy that he finally made it all the way over.
