My Cajun Princess

Well, my baby girl is still snuggled up inside me; but on the plus side, I get to update the blog again before I have too much info and photos to keep up.

I'm currently 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and I couldn't be anymore ready to hold my new baby in my arms.  I feel like she is coming any day now, but I've been feeling like that for what seems like forever.  Things are definitely progressing though.  Contractions have increased and become much more painful, and I've even begun to lose my mucus plug which is actually something that I never experienced with my previous pregnancies.

My last dr appt was on May 24th and I was still only 1cm dilated and about 25% effaced despite all of the contractions I had been enduring.  I was really hoping to be further along.  At this appt, I weighed in at 139 lbs which means I gained 3 lbs since my previous appt, for a total weight gain of 24 lbs.  Baby's heart rate was 130 bpm.

A couple days ago, Joshua painted my belly!  We did this in 2009 when I was 39 weeks pregnant with Beckham, and it's a picture I love to show Beckham every once in a while so I really wanted to do it again.  Everett surprised us and came two weeks early so we didn't get the chance to do it when I was pregnant with him.  This time, we knew not to wait too long!  Since we're away from home, we decided to do a Fleur de lis for our cajun princess.

Here's my pic from 2009 when I was 39 weeks pregnant with Beckham!

This has been a really exciting week for our little family.  As you know, Donna has been staying with us, but for the last week, Gene was here!  The boys were so happy to be able to spend time with Papah, and we're already looking forward to his next visit in just one week!

Sooooo I just realized that Gene is not really in any of these pictures... because he was taking them all!  For once, I wasn't the one behind the camera but I'll have to make sure I am during his next visit.

One morning, Gene and Joshua took Becks on a run/hike.  Joshua carried Beckham in his backpack during the run, and then they picked flowers "for all of the ladies that Beckham loves".

May 27th was Donna's birthday and we all spent the day at Strawberry Fest.  The boys got to ride some rides for the first time... I think.  Beckham may have before.

And as usual, I'll close with a couple pics of my boys playing together.  :)

Brotherly Love

I can't believe I forgot to write about this in my post yesterday... this one will be all about the boys reuniting after a two week separation.

As mentioned in previous entries, Beckham and Donna left us for a two week stay in New Orleans. It was really wonderful to be able to spend so much one on one time with my Everett, but it was hard at times knowing that my Beckham was so far away. The boys missed each other dearly too. Beckham cried a little bit in NOLA because he said he missed his brother, and Everett repeatedly told me "I miss brubba." We knew that their reunion would be special. The morning that we were going to see Beckham again (May 12), I told Everett and his eyes lit up and he began yelling with excitement. I'm such a happy mom knowing that my boys love each other the way they do and have already created a special brotherly bond.

When the boys first saw each other again, they ran into each others arms. Beckham told Everett that he got so big, and he couldn't keep his hands off of Evie's face. At one point, he even told Everett, "You're so precious." I'm not sure that there's any better feeling than watching your children share these moments.

Check out this video of the boys seeing each other again for the first time!

Here are some cute pics of Everett and cousin, Isaac from the same afternoon.
