BECKHAM IS HERE!

BECKHAM PATRICK BREAUX

DOB: March 25, 2009
WEIGHT: 6lbs 8oz
LENGTH: 19 3/4 inches

As most of you know, Beckham joined our family last Wednesday! I ended up going into labor the morning I was supposed to be induced. My contractions started at 4:30am and he was born at 9:40pm. As soon as I get more time I will post my birth story with all the details. For now, here are some pictures of our little angel!

Bye Bye Pink Jammies!

I felt really good today although I started to crash at about 4pm. I'm so ready to knock out for the night right now and it's only 6:30. But I didn't have any contractions today nor did I have anymore gas pain. Sometimes it's hard to believe that I'm all the way at the end, and other times I feel like I'm 43 weeks pregnant or something! I know I should be resting as much as possible right now but staying home all day without a baby to care for really drives me crazy so I did get out today to have lunch with Gina again. Today was our last time hanging out as two pregnant chicks together. She should be having her baby in just a couple weeks though and we'll be two mommies instead!

The above pic was taken after lunch today and I swear my belly looks so tiny in that dress. It definitely doesn't look like the same belly that was painted last night!

Today I'm posting my final "Belly Pic"! I plan to take one tomorrow from the front view before we go to the hospital but this is my last one of the pink pajama shots. I can't believe it's almost over!

My Little Easter Egg

Saturday was my brother's girlfriend, Sam's birthday and we all got together for a crawfish boil. As I mentioned before, she, my sister and myself are all pregnant together and it was the last time we'd all be hanging out that way so we had to take a pic. I can't wait until we can take a picture of the three of us with our babies!

Sam (10 wks), Kate (15 wks), Me (39 wks)

Today I had terrible gas pains in my stomach that almost had me to tears. I was trying every position imaginable to ease the pain and I even wondered if I were possibly in labor! After about 4 hours, the pain drifted off and reoccurred sporadically throughout the day. Other than that, I haven't felt anything else other than some contractions in the night and morning over the past few days - but nothing other than the gas pain today. Maybe something will happen tonight!

On a funny note, Joshua painted my belly tonight! We wanted to make a funny face and it ended up looking like an Easter Egg! My Belly looks HUGE too! (I may leave it painted overnight just in case I end up going to the hospital! HAHA!)

Less Than A Week!

Last night, Gina and I went to a breastfeeding class at Touro that turned out to be more interesting than I expected. It actually got me looking forward to breastfeeding now whereas before I didn't really care either way, although I was planning on giving it a try. For so long now while he's been in me, I've been able to share this intimate bond with Beckham that's just between us, and I think nursing him will enable me to continue that a little bit longer. I plan on raising a Mama's Boy!

Today was my fourth exam with my doctor and there is finally something happening! I am 1 cm dilated and my cervix is really soft. But the most exciting news is that I will definitely have my baby in my arms on March 26th (Thursday!!). I will be going into the hospital on the night of the 25th to prepare my body to be induced the following day if hasn't come by then. For days now I've been debating over whether or not to choose March 30th or April 4th as his birthday; but as I was sitting in the waiting room this morning looking over my papers, I noticed that my doctor had March 26th down as my due date (I've been going by March 29th). As I looked at the numbers, 3/26, it just felt right and I quickly decided on that date instead. I just can't go into labor tonight or tomorrow because my doctor will be out of town. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he's stays in until Sunday!

39 WEEKS

By the way, I gained 0 lbs since my last appointment last week and Beckham's BPM was 140 again.

E-NORMOUS!

Today I finally had some Braxton Hicks Contractions for the first time in weeks! I also had a lot more pressure in my girl parts as well as a lot of lower back pain so maybe things are beginning to move along. I walked around City Park a little with my friend, Gina and then Joshua and I went to the mall where I did just a tad bit more walking. While in the mall, we made a stop at Motherhood Maternity so I could get a couple of nursing bras, and Joshua had just a little too much fun in there...

Joshua in a bra is completely ridiculous but not much worse than my new bra size. Now remember how totally shocked I was when I jumped up to a C during the first trimester. Well get this... the size that I bought today was an E!!! Did you get that.... EEEEEEEEE!!! When the lady measured me and handed me a size E, my jaw dropped and I seriously looked at her like she was insane. She explained that the bra should fit me a little bit loose right now because my lady lumps will grow more once I have the baby, but I tried on the D too just in case she was off and sure enough it was snug. I'm sure no one cares about my breast size. I just never actually saw an E cup size before and now I'll be wearing one.

Before I end this I also want to mention that I finally packed my hospital bag today! I know I should have done it weeks ago but I'm such a procrastinator. I can relax now because I'm prepared to go to the hospital at any time!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I'm here today to post my 38 week Belly Pic. You never know, this could be the last one. We'll see. I was really hoping for a St. Patrick's Day baby but the day is done and gone. I guess I could still have an April's Fool's baby! lol

Well this has been my first week off of work and I just don't know what to do with myself! It is a good thing that I've been able to stay home though because walking around has gotten a bit more difficult. The weekend was really hard. I pretty much spent it sleeping because I couldn't keep my eyes open. Monday I was extremely tired as well but I felt better today. If I feel okay tomorrow, I may do a few laps around the mall to help the little booger come out.

Night time, as usual, is the worst! Not only am I never comfortable and I have to get out of bed about 8-10 times to pee, but for the last couple weeks my hips have been hurting me when I lay down. And the worst thing of all.... ACID REFLUX! I'm constantly waking up to the taste of vomit in my mouth. Either that or I wake up choking on it. I'm so close to getting to the point where I have to sleep on the couch sitting up. BUT, if I do that, I'm too far from the toilet! This is a no win situation so thankfully it's almost over.

2 WEEKS LEFT!

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and everything is still the same. My doctor offered to induce me next week if I felt that I was really for it but I'm definitely not. I plan to wait it out until my due date, but hopefully Beckham surprises us and comes on his own before then. His BPM was 130 yesterday and I weighed in at 154lbs which means I gained 2lbs since my last visit one week ago. 2lbs in one week! And I'm certainly feeling it. Today I had to buy bigger underwear because my old ones were so tight that I couldn't bare the pain anymore, and I can no longer fit in most of my maternity clothes. My cousin Brandi let me borrow a handful of dresses so I've been living out of those for the last week, but even two of those are too small now. I need to have this baby soon!

Farewell

Today was my last day of work! I can't believe it! Beckham better come soon because I don't know what I will do with myself. I've been working for Milestones Mental Health Agency for the last couple of years and I also worked for them before Katrina so it will feel so strange to not be working with those lovely ladies anymore. Yesterday was my last staffing with everyone and they gave me a sweet card that everyone signed (including my lil Sofia!) along with an adorable necklace which I'm wearing right now.

Today my boss and office manager took me out to lunch to Cafe Rani as a farewell. It was so nice and I'm truly going to miss those two. Maybe I'll work with them again one day!

Tomorrow is my third exam with my doctor, and I definitely plan to post an update with what he says. I'm going to be updating everyday that I have new news to share just in case I have the baby soon!

Just a quick update with what I've been feeling... I've been having horrible back pain over the last six days and today was the worst. The strange thing is that it's been upper back pain for the last two days. My belly is definitely getting heavier and I find myself trying to hold it up at times. Also, I've been feeling Beckham kicking at my ribs for the past couple weeks but this week it's really been strong. It feels like he's pushing my ribs with his feet and it causes me to have to lean back. Keep your fingers crossed for me that he comes next week!

Another Morris Baby?!

Hello again! Beckham is still in my tummy and showing no signs escaping anytime soon. I went to my doctor's appointment last Friday for my weekly check up and there still wasn't much progress with my cervix. It is still closed and thick (two weeks ago it had thinned about 50% and on Friday it was at 60%). My doctor mentioned inducing me around my due date if I was interested, but I've pretty much decided to stick with mother nature and let Beckham decide when he wants to come out - unless of course I'm like a week past my due date! I gained 2lbs since my last appointment which was two weeks before for a total weight gain of 37lbs, which means that I currently weigh 152lbs. Beckham's heartbeat was 140. Unfortunately, this was the very first appointment that Joshua was unable to attend because he is currently in a three week Corporal's training course for work. So he will also be unable to make the next two appointments as well. My doctor noticed right away and said, "Oh he abandoned you today!". LOL.

After my appointment, I met with my friend Gina whose baby is due two weeks after mine. We went looking around at baby clothes and she helped me pick out Beckham's coming home outfit. It's so cute and I can't wait to see him in it in just a few weeks!

When I came in from work today, Joshua freaked out when he saw me. He claims I got so much bigger in just a day, and he thinks I'm huge. I must admit that I've had a little bit harder time walking around today and I've been having a lot of back pain over the last four days so maybe he's right. Here's my Belly Pic for the week - you be the judge!

SO... as I mentioned before, my sister Kate is now pregnant and expecting her first baby. Well apparently the water at my dad's house has been contaminated with fertility drugs because my brother and his girlfriend, Sam, are now expecting their very first baby too! Three Morris Baby's in one year! Sam has also created a baby blog so you can follow along with her pregnancy at http://morrisbaby-3.blogspot.com/.

Here's a pic of the three of us celebrating Lundi Gras completely SOBER! Kate (12 wks), Me (35 wks), Sam (6 wks)

Here's Joshua and I on Burbon Street with my big belly and my virgin daiquiri.

Furbabies!

Less than a month left, everyone! I'm getting more and more anxious as we get closer. I get a little nervous and scared when I think about giving birth, but I'm so excited about seeing his little face soon. This month can't go by fast enough!

Remember on my very first blog how I posted my pregnancy ticker and I was in the first box?? Well, can you believe that I'm actually in the last box now?! At the time of my first post, it seemed so far away and I really couldn't imagine myself in that last box, and now here we are!

Although we're thrilled about having our little boy join our family soon, we can't forget about our precious little girls - our two furbabies, Alaska and Bunny Boo!

As you might expect, they get all of our attention right now so we're a little worried about how they're going to respond to having to share us with the new baby in the house, especially Bunny Boo. She already gets extremely jealous when we give attention to Alaska and she seems to think my belly is a space walk. However, we did catch her being sweet the other day so I have to post it.

I do have my 36 week Belly Pic today, but this is a special Belly Pic. Over the last week I noticed that despite my daily routine of buttering up, my b0dy decided to rebel anyway... I got my first stretch marks! I can't exactly complain though because my stomach was spared... so far! I got them on my hips on both sides. My mommy marks! Boooo!
