Baby To Buddy

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and Christmas will be here in one month, so it's time for me to catch everyone up before this entry becomes 100 pages long!

Beckham is becoming more of a child and less of a baby everyday. He is now speaking in sentences and says words for absolutely everything, including words that I would never expect like "Octagon". I can thank Sesame Street for teaching him that one. He even says sentences as long as "I want to stay at Nonna's house." His very sentence almost two months ago was "I not a baby." which he said so seriously with wrinkled eyebrows when Joshua was handing him his binky.

As I mentioned in my last entry, Beckham loves to sing. He sings everyday and he puts on quite a show. He sings songs from tv like Dinosaur Train's theme song (instead of Dinosaur traaaaaain... dinosaur traaaaiin... riiiiiiide dinosaur train, Beckhams says "Chu Chu traaaaaain.... chu chu traiiiiiin... riiiiiide chu chu train") and Two and Half Men's theme song (Beckham says, "Man Man Ooooooooooo...". He's been singing the "ooooooo" part for several months, but he recently added in the word "man". He also knows the words to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". If you pause before the last word of each line, Beckham will sing it. He also does the same thing with the "ABC's". You can pause anywhere during the alphabet and he will say the next letter. We were shocked to learn that Beckham even knows the words to the song that Joshua used to sing to him at night, "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who. You can pause anywhere during the first couple verses and he will sing the next line. Below is a video of Beckham singing for us in our livingroom.

You know your baby is growing up when he starts sleeping in a "big boy" bed. I am so proud of my little guy. We took the rail down about 3 weeks ago, and he has been doing so well. Joshua doesn't even need to sing him to sleep anymore. He just tucks Beckham in and kisses him goodnight, and Beckham stays there until he falls asleep. And Beckham is so cute... he calls it his "bee bo bed".

Beckham is really into "bee bo" (big boy) things right now (it's funny that he says it that way because when he points out a boy he says "boy" correctly!). Every time we go to Mawmart (Walmart), Beckham has to ride a "bee bo" bike. When we're at home, he starts asking for "more bike". Sorry but I don't have pictures of Beckham on a big boy bike. Well I think Joshua has one on his phone so I'll try to post it next time... if I remember!

Beckham is so funny when he tries to count things. He always starts with "2...8..."! They must be his favorite numbers! However, there was one time when he was waiting for the microwave and he said, "1, 2, 3, 4, BEEEEEEEP!" And he knows when he has two of something. When he has something in each hand, he comes to me and says, "2!". Or I'll catch him counting the things in his hand, saying "1..2...1...2...1...2". And if there is two of something and I ask him how many, he answers correctly. If there is more than two, he says "2, 8". LOL

Beckham does this thing.... he walks all around the house with a throw blanket on his head. ALL. THE. TIME. haha!

Beckham loves watching slide show picture frames. He'll watch them forever. Sometimes I catch him standing alone at our table watching ours.

Beckham loves to feed ducks. While the weather was really beautiful, we took him quite a bit. Here are some pics...

My little baby, Everett....

He is growing so quickly now. First of all, he and Beckham are only 4lbs apart, maybe even less now that Beckham has been so sick that he lost his appetite. But when I say he's growing quickly, I'm talking more about his motor and cognitive skills. He's scooting around much faster now, and even crawls little bits at a time. He is even now big enough to wrestle his big brother! The two of them have so much fun together now. They are always playing Peek-A-Boo, and they stare at each other while taking turns screaming at the top of their lungs. They play together in the playroom and are so cute in the bath. Beckham is definitely giving Everett much more attention these days and Everett is loving every minute of it.

Everett is not pulling himself up to a standing position yet, but he is pulling himself up to his knees. We finally had to lower his crib mattress to it's lowest level.

Everett started saying "Dada" and "Nonna" about a month ago, and he NEVER stops talking or screaming (in a good way)! He is so loud that I have to remove him from the room if Beckham is napping.

Everett is now picking things up with his thumb and index finger. Oh and he is always crossing his index finger and middle finger.... so strange!

When Beckham was six months old, I made a whole entry just about his first time in a swing. It was something that was very important to me because I had looked forward to the day that I would one day be pushing my own child on a swing. Well, here is a picture of Everett's first time. It was really cold this day and he hung in there for quite a while, smiling and having a good time before he started shivering. Joshua had Beckham in another area of the park so Everett and I got to enjoy this time to ourselves.

Both of my babies were sick this past week. Joshua went out of town and halfway through his trip the boys became very ill. Everett had bronchitis, and Beckham had a cold and an ear infection. Every night I was up with one of them until Joshua got home and relieved me. Everett had to receive breathing treatments every four hours; and Beckham, who we had to hold down to take his antibiotics is now loving it and is asking for more. They are both still sick with colds, but they are at least sleeping through the night again.

Speaking of sleeping through the night, I want to make a note that Everett stopped needing his 7am bottles once I started feeding him baby food. He now sleeps to 8-9am most days along with Beckham!

So let me tell you about Halloween!

We were all dressed as pirates this year! Arrrr! We had some family over and everyone took the boys around my neighborhood. Beckham had been practicing saying "Trick or Treat" for a while and said it so perfectly; but of course, the boogerbutt didn't say it once when he was going from door to door. Everett on the other hand was a motor mouth! He was talking everyone's heads off as he went up to people (in his stroller) to get candy. Oh that baby is too cute!

The night before Halloween was the Marine Corps Ball in celebration of their 235th Birthday. It was my first ball NOT pregnant and it was an amazing night! Here's a pic of me and my super handsome Marine. ;)

For Veterans Day, we got together with a group of our Marine Corps friends and went to the zoo. The kiddies had so much fun! After, we had lunch and then brought the boys straight to the Aquarium where they went wild in the playroom. We still weren't ready to end our fabulous day so we took the boys for a walk down the river and around the quarter before taking them to dinner. A perfect day for my lovely Marine. I couldn't be more proud!

I took the boys to the Monkey Room to meet up with some friends and Beckham literally ran around nonstop for three hours. It was his first time in the big kid section and climbed all around there with no problem. Before his friends got there, he was playing with the "big" kids (they were about 10 years old), and they kept calling him "Little Guy." So sweet!

Here are some shots from October at the Children's Museum:

Here are some pics from a trip to the zoo back in October. I took the boys there with Donna, Tori, Whitney and Judah. The zoo is our favorite place to go. Right now, Beckham's favorite animal is a giraffe. Joshu and I tried to take the boys to the zoo once on a Monday, not realizing they were closed and when we couldn't go in, Beckham started whining and saying "Iraffe.... Iraffe!" over and over again. He recently started pronouncing the "G". He knows the sounds tons of animals and his favorite sound to make is the monkey. Now when I tell him we're going to the zoo, he yells "Giraffe! Monkey!".

Back in September, we had our family pictures taken at Jambalaya Park in Gonzales by Tate Tullier Photography. We are so very happy with the pictures and here are a few of my favorites!
I just have to say that Sams has the coolest shopping carts! Both of my boys can sit up front together. :)

Before I close this post, check out this video of the boys playing in the bath together!
