The first pic is from today. I love to take pics of my boys sleeping together. The two of Beckham with the hat on are from Mardi Gras day, and the others were taken at the park next door to us last weekend.

7 WEEKS LEFT!
In just two days I will have only 7 weeks until Baby Everett is due to arrive! As excited as I am to meet him, I am soooo not ready! I still haven't even cleaned out his room so I'm not even close to setting everything up for him. There's so much to do and so little time! This pregnancy has gone by so fast, and that's one thing I'm not complaining about. But before I get more into that, I'm going to update everyone on my little prince who's already here.
When I last wrote, we had just started Beckham on a new bedtime routine to get him falling asleep in his bed and have him sleep there through the night. Well, it was a success! For over a month now, Beckham goes right to sleep when we lay him in his crib and doesn't wake until the morning. Although he's been waking up about two hours earlier than usual on average, I'm still so happy that he's making it through the night on his own. And it's soooo nice to actually have a set bedtime for him! Before we would just let him fall asleep on the couch whenever he wanted which would sometimes lead to late nights for us. But now that he's in the bath for 9pm and then done with his bedtime story and in bed by 9:30pm EVERY NIGHT, I actually have time to read again! It's so nice to have that little bit of time all to myself to unwind at the end of the day. And I need it now because in 7 weeks I'll be starting all over again. Haha!
A few days after I last wrote, Joshua left Beckham and I for a week to go to the rifle range six hours away. The last time he went there Beckham was only six weeks old so it was a much different experience this time. It was a challenge having to do everything all on my own and it made me even more grateful that Joshua's orders to be in Japan for 12 months were cancelled. Joshua does so much for this family that his absence is definitely noticed. It's so nice to have him home where he belongs.

While Joshua was away, I kept Beckham (and myself) very busy with playdates and outings.

The first few days that Joshua was gone, Cherie stayed with us and I took them to the Children's Museum Oneida and then the Aquarium the next. Beckham had so much fun with his Myshie that I really felt bad when she had to go back home.

Donna even joined us on a trip to the Children's Museum one afternoon! On the way out, we were playing in the distorted mirrors and we looked so funny that we had to take pics!

Beckham has been having lots of playdates and I got some pics of him with his friends Avaree, Zoe and J'Lynn.

Sadly, our "Busy Babies" parenting class at the Parenting Center has ended so we'll be missing that. Beckham really loved when it was time to sing songs at the end so I'm going to try to take him to a music group that they have their on Mondays. Hopefully he'll see some of his friends from the other class there.

Beckham had his first Mardi Gras! Unfortunately, we didn't make it to any parades this year but we did spend Mardi Gras day in the Quarter with Gene and Donna. It was a little cold but Beckham was very entertained by all the interested people and costumes. I'm so glad we took him out there but I'll have to take him to the St. Patrick's Day Parade since he didn't get to experience that part.

Things that Beckham learned to do over the last month:
1) Beckham now signs "Bath" and "More" in addition to "Mommy", "Daddy", "All Done" and "Milk".
2) Beckham is taking steps! About a month ago, he took his first step with Joshua. Since then, the most he had taken was two at a time until last night and this morning when he took 5 steps in a row! For weeks, he's been wanting to walk everywhere and he insists on holding onto just one hand. This sometimes causes him to walk in circles because he tends to walk sideways.
3) Beckham learned how to climb onto the couch all on his own so he now can climb on and off all by himself. I discovered this morning that this could be a problem. Beckham likes to lean over the back of the couch to watch me making his breakfast in the kitchen, and this morning he actually flew over. Eek! I'll have to sit him in his high chair from now on...
4) Beckham has now mastered blowing a kiss!
5) Beckham raises up his arms when you say, "Touch down!".
6) Beckham has really learned how to control his facial expressions. When you tell him to "Say Cheese", he scrunches up his face and shows you his teeth.

There's also this funny face that he makes when you ask him to!

A couple weeks ago, I took some pics of Beckham playing around at home. he kept making the "Cheese" face for me! You can view them at www.StaceyBreaux.com/tenmonths.html.

Joshua and I recently learned that Beckham does not like to be scared. Last week, Joshua yelled "BOO!" and Beckham's eyes got really big. Then he started yelling and crying, and slapping Joshua in the face. I had never seen him so angry before! Donna told us that when she was play scaring him, he was getting upset with her too. No more games like that for the baby!
Beckham absolutely loves animals! He's always chasing Alaska around the house and he loves laying on Sadie (Gene and Donna's dog) and Bunny Boo. My mom's dog recently had puppies and when we were visiting last weekend, she had someone over to buy one. The puppies were playing on the floor and Beckham laid his head on them. And it was even more cute when the lady who was there to buy one said, "Awww" and Beckham repeated her! She said it again and so did he. Sooooo cute! And Beckham doesn't just love hugging Bunny Boo... he loves to play with her too! He knows which toys are hers and he brings them to her and then tries to take them back so she will growl at him. Then they both play tug-a-war with the toy, Bunny Boo growling and Beckham yelling! I wanted to have a video of it to post but I still haven't captured it. I will though! I do have a pic from last night though when Beckham was laying on Bunny Boo for the longest time.

News worth mentioning! The Saints not only made it to their first Superbowl but actually won! A big deal during Beckham's first year of life!

Some things I forgot to mention on my last blog:
1) Beckham got his fourth tooth on January 8th. It was his top, right tooth. His fangs along with two more on the bottom have been right a the surface giving him problems but they still have yet to cut through.
2) At Beckham's 9 month check up, he weighed 18lbs and was 29 inches long. The nurse said his length was in the 50th percentile and his weight was in the 25th percentile. He's a little boy!

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2
Everett is supposed to be about 4lbs now and be about 17 inches long! I can totally believe it too! It looks and feels like he is constantly doing splits and straddles in my belly. I don't remember my belly moving nearly as much with Beckham as it does with Everett. Of course, Everett has more room to move though. It's been getting more painful over the last week and I'm wondering how I'm going to make it through seven more especially since this baby is only going to grow bigger.
For a while I was wondering where the Braxton Hick's contractions were but about two weeks ago they started showing up. Mardi Gras day I was getting them constantly from all the walking. I can't believe I'm at that stage of the pregnancy already! I am seriously so anxious to have Everett here where I can kiss his face!
My dr appointments have been going well. I'm already down to seeing him every two weeks, and two weeks from this Friday I will be seeing him every week! At my last visit a week ago, I had gained 5lbs and at my visit a month before that, I had gained 4lbs. So I've gained 18lbs so far which is putting me exactly where I was at this time for Beckham. My dr thinks that Everett should be about the same size that Beckham was, and he says that I'm measuring perfectly. Everett's head is already down too which is great. Now I just need to get everything ready for him and he can come on out!! :)
