So Much To Be Thankful For

when you have more than you ever dreamed!

Beckham's first Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now I'm here to write about it. But first, I have to tell you about what happened before Turkey Day!

The weekend before Thanksgiving was busy as usual. We hopped around to all of our parents' houses for family time and it was great... until... I noticed Beckham's nose starting to run late, Sunday evening and I began coughing and sneezing nonstop. Yep, we were both sick AGAIN!
Beckham ended up having a fever the following two days and I developed a cough that was like nothing I've ever had before. I was coughing so hard that not only was I constantly peeing my pants, but I was also throwing up. Fortunately, my sister Cherie' spent 3 nights with us and helped me out so much. She kept Beckham occupied while I was having coughing fits and he loved it. All he has to do is look at her and he smiles so big. I'm thankful she was there.

Joshua also took a day and a half off of work to help me. Because Beckham was also sick, he was waking up screaming every 30 minutes during the night and there was no way I was able to comfort him. Joshua took care of him all night long, every night until it stopped. After finally giving in and calling my doctor on Wednesday, I was told that I have Bronchitis and put on antibiotics. I noticed a huge difference the first couple of days but there's been no improvement since and I finished my antibiotics yesterday. Ugh. And although I'm better than when I started them, I'm still coughing bad enough to where I threw up my whole bowl of ramen noodles yesterday. Anyway, I don't think you want to hear about that.

So Thanksgiving was great! Beckham started feeling better just in time! His nose was a little runny but otherwise, he was looking good. We started off at my cousin's house on my dad's side. It's always nice to see them since we rarely do. Beckham even got to spend some time with his little cousin, Haidyn who is only four months older than him. They are so cute together!

We then went to my mom's house where we took our traditional family pics. Both pictures have more people in them this year!

Last, we went to Joshua's aunt and uncle's house to spend some quality time with his family. After eating a whole meal at the first two places, you wouldn't think I ate again but yep, I did! I'm still eating on that yummy turkey and I never go past my "2 day" rule.

Friday was a typical day at home, relaxing with the fam until we found something living in our towel closet... kittens! We let Alaska outside during the first week of October and Joshua has been since telling me she was pregnant, but I was in serious denial. The last thing I wanted was kittens! Cherie' convinced me that it was true when she slept over but I didn't expect them to come so soon. Thank God there's only two of them; but please, if you know anyone who wants one, send them my way!

Saturday, Cherie' slept over again and played with Beckham while Joshua and I set up our Christmas tree. It doesn't have many ornaments on it this year because we had to throw them all away last year after the cat destroyed them; and it's better this way so I don't have to worry about Beckham (or the cat) trying to play with them. Cherie' takes a picture of us in front of our tree every year but Beckham definitely adds something special to the pic this year.

Some things I forgot to mention about Beckham:

For the last month, Beckham has been dancing whenever ever he hears music or when Joshua beat boxes for him. This is something I have to get on video soon!

For the last couple of weeks, Beckham has been able to pick up food on his own and feed himself. He isn't eating table food yet, but I do give him Graduates Puffs to learn how to chew. Unless it gets sticky and stuck in his palm, he his able to put it in his own mouth.

Last week Beckham said "MaMa" for the first time without crying! He said it while crawling to me, and of course, it was so sweet.

When Beckham first started pulling himself up, he was taking little steps around the coffee table, but it's been a long while since he's done it until recently. He's now moving very well around the table.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Poor baby, I don't know how he's making it in there with all this coughing. He's still punching and kicking me really low; and he must be right on my bladder because I pee just about every time I cough. I really do have to change my pants once or twice a day, and I probably should be taking some with me when I leave the house. My cravings are out of control too. When I was pregnant for Beckham I never craved anything, but this time I crave so many things... candy bars, hummus, sushi, chocolate, pizza, and the list goes on. Like last time, I'm pretty grossed out by ground meat though and I also have a hard time eating grilled chicken. Overall, it amazes me how different this pregnancy is than my last one.
