Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Today at the baby group, Beckham weighed 16 lbs 1oz!! He gained 5 ounces in the last week and I'm so happy that he's finally 16lbs. I know it's time for me to stop worrying about his weight but I'm just waiting for him to catch up to the "big budumping chunks" in the group. Today was Kate's first visit to the group and she got to see for herself how big those babies are. Every time she sees Beckham, she's constantly saying how big he is but today she realized exactly how small he is. Haha!

The weather was soooooooooooooo perfect today! It made me feel all happy and giddy like Christmas! I just wanted to set up a tent somewhere and live outside. After the group, we all made sure to go to lunch somewhere where we could definitely sit outside, and thank goodness we got the last table on the patio. Beckham took a nice little nap in his seat so he was well rested for what I had planned.

For a couple weeks now, I've been wanting to take Beckham to the park to swing for the first time; but on the days that I wanted to, it was either raining or incredibly too hot. Because the weather was so beautiful today, I just had to take him after lunch!

This was really special to me because it's something that I had been looking forward to for almost two years now. Back when I was trying to conceive Beckham and the months kept passing by and I still wasn't pregnant, I brought Sofia to the park one day. And as I sat on the bench while she ran around with her friend, I watched a couple girls my age sitting their babies in the grass together and then pushing them in the swings. I wanted to be them so bad and from that day on, I couldn't wait to bring my baby to the park one day and push him in those same swings. And there I was today, pushing my little boy in one of those swings while another little baby was growing inside me. I felt so overwhelmed by how perfect everything was. I can't imagine life getting any better than this.

Beckham really liked the swing. He kept trying to see everything and he loved watching the other kids running around playing. He would smile occasionally and crack up laughing when I tried grabing his feet. It was so much fun!

Thump Thump

Beckham has been spending some time with Daddy at work! For the past couple weeks, I've been bringing Beckham to Joshua's work for lunch a couple times a week. We go straight from our morning walk so I'm already tired but when I combine that with lunch, I can barely keep my eyes open! Beckham loves it though. He's always so excited when he sees his daddy.

On Friday, September 18th, Joshua had a work party so he came by the house to pick Beckham up to bring him (spouses were not invited). He carried him around in a baby bjorn and brought him up to different things for him to feel. Joshua said he loved feeling the trees, leaves, bricks, Tyson, etc. Someone even took a pic without Joshua's knowledge. I was so excited to get it! haha!

Also on that Friday, Beckham had his first sippie cup! I put about an ounce of grape juice in it with 3 or 4 ounces of water and he did really well with it. It seemed like it was coming out a little fast for him because he was letting a lot of it pour down his mouth. The cup I gave him had handles on it so he was a little confused as to how to hold it because he's used to holding his bottle. So since then, I bought him some without handles and he loves them. He goes right for it and knows exactly what to do with it.

On Saturday, Spetember 19th, Joshua and I brought Beckham to East Jefferson Hospital to visit a friend of mine who just had a baby girl. I was so excited for this visit because she is an online friend who had supported me throughout the many months I was trying to conceive Beckham and then through my entire pregnancy, and since. It was my first time meeting her in person and I was so happy to be able to celebrate the birth of her own baby with her. We really enjoyed the visit and meeting their family for the first time. Beckham was so good. He sat in his umbrella stroller for the most part just watching my friend in the bed. When he started getting fidgety, I took him out and Joshua held him. He looked so cute when I was taking pictures of the baby and looked over to find him chewing on his bib. I love when he does that!
On Monday, it was so hot during our walk that Beckham really threw the wrench. He's already whiny during our walks because we go during his nap time and he can never manage to take one while we're out there. He ended up screaming so bad that Holly and I had to cut the walk short and head straight for her house to get him in some cool air which was closer than my car. He ended up calming down on the way to her house and once we got there, he was totally fine and ready to play. He and Zoe were so cute together. First, they were grabbing each other, holding hands and sharing toys. Then, they started fighting over the same toy and it was so funny. I was able to get them on video but I missed all the good stuff.

On Tuesday, Beckham was a little booger at the baby group. It starts at 10:30am and he was due for a nap at 9am which he refused to take. So of course, he was fussy and rowdy. The good thing was that he was sooooo tired by the end of the group that he slept through the whole lunch with my momma friends. Despite his boogerness at the group, I was able to weigh him and he was 15lbs 12oz. It took him forever to get from 14lbs to 15lbs and now he's almost to 16lbs already!

Thursday, Joshua's office had another little party so I brought Beckham by. There's this one lady who works in his office that Beckham adores. She immediately makes him smile and he has a blast playing with her. She calls him "Jumper" and you can figure out why. Ever since he figured out how to use his Jumperoo, he constantly wants to jump when he's in someones arms. I can't complain though because it's a really great workout!

I finally have Beckham's 5 month pictures done! We took him to Jackson Square and fortunately, there weren't too many tourists around. When we first got out there and were figuring out where we were going to put him, an older gentleman offered to take a family pic of us in front of the monument. I was so happy because I hadn't even thought of that!

My camera shoots really fast so it catches everything and I mean, everything! I caught a pic of Beckham that you may not want to see but I have to share it because it's hilarious! If you're eating or about to eat, skip the photo below!

Despite Beckham's upset tummy, we ended up with a nice set of photos. You can view them at www.Staceybreaux.com/fivemonths.html.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

I'm going to be 12 weeks tomorrow which means only one more week until the second trimester! I'm mostly excited because this means that I have an even less risk of miscarriage but I'm also psyched because I'll finally get to dye my hair. Haha! I can't believe that I could feel the baby move within just 4 weeks! I felt Beckham at 16 weeks and my doctor told me that he wouldn't be surprised if I feel this one much sooner. I must admit, I'm more excited to feel this one than I was the first. During my first pregnancy, I was just obsessed with knowing what the gender was; but this time, I'm just dying to feel it move. I guess it's because we really don't care what the gender is so although I'm incredibly anxious to know, I'll be more concerned with that after I feel the baby.

Friday was my second prenatal appointment! We brought Beckham with us and he was so entertaining while we waited to see the doctor. He was cracking up laughing the whole time. It was really so special having him there during the first time we listened to the baby's heartbeat. The three of us were holding hands which kept me distracted while the doctor was trying to find it. Once he did, I was able to breathe again and the sound was so beautiful. It was 160bpm so Dr. Von Almen called it a girl. I turned to Joshua and said, "So it's a boy!". The doctor laughed because he knows how he's always wrong. He told us Beckham was a girl and he told Kate and Sam that their daughters were boys. Haha! Of course, it's impossible to know what the baby is based on it's heartbeat but it's fun to play around.

At my last visit, I had gained 3lbs making me 128. This time I lost 2lbs so I'm back down to 126 which is only 2lbs more than I weighed at this time during my last pregnancy. I started 10lbs heavier than I did for Beckham so I'm extremely happy that I've been able to even out. The crazy thing is that my belly is so much bigger so I must of lost some weight in other places. I'm posting my recent Belly Pic below but you have to check out the Belly Pic page to compare it to last weeks... big difference! www.StaceyBreaux.com/bellypics.html

I found a website that has 4D videos of 11 week old fetuses. It's so cool to watch them move and roll around like little babies already, and that's what my little one looks like. They're so cute! Check them out at http://www.ehd.org/movies.php?mov_id=198&cell=6.

Beckham Has A First Cousin!

So as most of you know, my little sister had her first baby on Tuesday, September 8th; and I'm sure you all want to hear about it, but... I'm a couple weeks behind so I'll start where I left off and tell you all about Kate and Baby Theresa a little later!

Tuesday, September 1st, Beckham went to the baby group like he does every Tuesday and boy, did he put on a show! He was scooting his little butt all over the place and it was the first time my friends there saw him do that. I had to keep dragging him back to our spot! He scooted himself over to Leah and grabbed both of her cheeks. He even put his hand in her mouth and she started chewing on it! Every time I moved him back to our spot, he would scoot himself back to her and hold her hand. I think he's in love! Then Gina kept pulling out Leah's bottle and putting it on the floor near the mat so Beckham kept taking off after it. At that group, he weighed 14lbs 15oz... still didn't make it to 15lbs!!

Thursday, September 3rd, Joshua had to work until 10pm so I brought Beckham to his office so they could still spend some time together. One of the other Marine wives had the same idea so Beckham and her daughter, J'Lynn, played together on the floor. Joshua carried Beckham around the office most of the time and J'Lynn chased after him!

Gosh, I can barely remember what we did the rest of that week....

Oh, I started walking everyday that week and have continued since. I've been taking Beckham to Audubon park and I push him around in the stroller for 4 miles every morning. Most of the time my mommy friends, Gina and Holly, join me. Beckham doesn't seem to be a fan of the walks though. About half way through he gets really bored and fussy. I think his problem is that it's during his nap time and he refuses to sleep while we're out there. He has to get used to it though because I refuse to gain 40lbs during this pregnancy!

A week later, Beckham and I skipped the baby group to spend the day at the hospital waiting for baby Theresa. We got there at 9am and stayed until 9:30pm. Beckham was sooooooooooo good the entire day. He let everyone take turns holding him and he played on the floor in the waiting room with his cousins, Victoria and Athens. He even attacked Victoria when she was loving on him! He was grabbing her face and trying to eat her while throwing himself on her. She was loving it! I thought I video recorded it but I didn't because I suck at the video camera. I always think I'm recording when I'm not. I even did this for Beckham's first car ride home from the hospital and when we first brought him in the house.

Theresa was finally born after a long fight to stay in at 6:02pm. She weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 20 inches long. And of course, she is sooooooo cute! I think she has her daddy's eyes and chin, and her mommy's nose and lips. Such a cute combination! Theresa is Beckham's first "first cousin" and Payton will be his next, expected to arrive in just one month. Yay!

The following day, I brought Beckham back to the hospital to visit with his new baby cousin. We only got to see her for a little while that day though because she didn't get back to the room until right before we had to leave. It was still so nice to see her new little face again.

The day after that (Thursday), I brought Beckham back again and this time we laid the babies next to each other to take a pic. Beckham was like a little monster! He kept trying to grab Theresa and roll on top of her. We ended up having to hold down his arms just to get a pic! Theresa was dressed like a little doll and she was so precious!

Friday night, Joshua, Beckham and I went to my dad's house as usual where Kate and the baby are staying to see the Boo Boo again. We took some more pics of the babies together and Beckham even petted Theresa. He's such a sweetie :).

Sunday, we took Beckham to visit Joshua's parents and my mom & Huey like we do every Sunday. He really seemed to have a good time at both houses. This little boy gets so much love!

Yesterday, Beckham and I went to the baby group and this time he weighed 15lbs 4 oz!! I was expecting him to gain more than 5oz over the last two weeks, but I'm just happy that he's finally over 15lbs. Skinny butt! Once again, he was scooting himself all over. I would be talking to the other moms and then be like, "Wait, where's Beckham?!". He scooted over to Zoe and kissed her then scooted over to Leah and kissed her too! He's a little player already!

Today Beckham and I went to the Aquarium with Holly and Zoe after our morning walk. We brought them to all the really bright fish tanks because they were so colorful, but Beckham seemed to like the sharks the most. When we took the babies out of their strollers to hold them up to the tanks, they were mostly looking at each other! I just love watching them interact.

Some new things that Beckham has been doing:

1.) He's been holding his bottle by himself for the past couple of weeks. It's so awesome to be able to let him feed himself while I do other things. He holds it from start to finish and I don't have to do anything!

One day last week, Joshua left Beckham with his bottle and when he came back to the room, this was how he found him (haha!):

2.) He tries to escape when I'm changing his diaper! The little booger never wants to lay still anymore so I can change him. He's always trying to get away now.

3.) When he wakes up in his crib, Beckham turns himself to where he is able to kick the wall. His foot even got stuck between the bars once!

4.) Beckham started tossing his pacifier out of the crib... well, more like dropping it through the bars. This is really a pain in the butt at 3:30 in the morning when he starts fussing for it back.

5.) He started talking a lot more. I think he was always very vocal but lately he's been making the same sound over and over again. Instead of just "coo" sounds, he's been saying "ba" over and over.

6.) He's gotten so good at scooting around! He's so fast now. He even started using his feet to help him like some babies do to help them crawl. I wonder if he will be one of those babies!
7.) He LOVES petting Bunny Boo and Alaska. This is one of his new favorite things to do. Bunny Boo comes and sits real tall next to him with her chin high and just lets him pet away at her. I think she's really liking having him around.

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

I'm over 10 weeks pregnant now! I'm so close to the second trimester that I can taste it! Although we saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks, we still haven't heard it yet so I'm so eager for my next appointment which is next Friday. I'll continue to be a nervous wreck until then.
Baby Breaux #2 is like a tiny baby already! He/she has little toes and fingers, and he/she even has nails. Baby Breaux is making small, random movements, but they are too slight to be felt by me. Only about 7 more weeks until I should be feeling him/her move!

The walking was really helping with my fatigue and morning sickness the first week, but now it's like nothing can help. I've been sick from the time I wake up in the morning until the time I go to bed with little breaks in between. And when I get home from walking, I'm so ready to drop dead! It's like I'm drugged or something. It's actually been a good thing for me that Beckham hasn't been napping during the walks so that he can pass out with me once we get home.

I got the baby girl bedding in today! It's so much more beautiful than I expected it to be! I just can't believe how nice it is. Now that I see it in person, I'm in love with it so I don't think I can sell it if I'm having a boy. I'll just have to hold on to it for my future daughter!

My belly has been growing so fast that everyone has been asking me if I'm sure it's not twins. Well, yes! I'm very sure! I'm just growing so fast because my last baby was so recent. I think my body just likes being pregnant or something. Here's a pic of me from a few days ago with my old maternity clothes on. Well, they're not really maternity clothes but they are what I wore throughout my entire pregnancy.

Below is my most recent belly pic. To compare it to previous weeks, go to www.StaceyBreaux.com/bellypics.html.
