How Could I Forget?

Some things I forgot to mention that I'd like to make a note of now:

1.) I hurt Beckham for the first time a couple of weeks ago! I was putting one of his pacifier clips that has a metal clasp on him and I accidentally got his skin along with the clothes. My poor baby screamed so loud it broke my heart.

2.) On Thursday, June 25th, Beckham slept through the night for the first time! He went a few days after that waking up to eat but for the past week, he has slept through the night everyday. I found that if he has his last feeding at 11pm, he can sleep until 6 or 7am before needing to eat again.

3.) I tried feeding Beckham with a spoon for the time a couple weeks ago. We sat him up in his bumbo seat, and I watered down some rice cereal and fed it to him. Once he got it off the spoon, he made strange faces and then started choking! I tried once more and he choked again so I was done with that! No more spoons until he's four months old.

4.) Around the time Beckham made three months, I started doing baby signs with him. I've read that babies can usually start making the signs themselves around 6 months and I planned on using them when I talk to him around 5 months; but for fun, I decided to start early. He definitely notices when I do it! Every time I make a sign, his eyes move from my eyes and to my hands which are making the signs. He really pays attention and he's very interested in what I'm doing. Since I'm starting so early, I plan on slowly adding more signs. At this point, I've been doing "mommy, daddy, friends, change, bath, water, milk, finished and baby" on a regular basis.

New News!

For the last couple of days, Beckham has been looking at me when I say his name! Not every time, of course, but enough to make me believe that he recognizes it. He's also been getting very close to doing a belly laugh. I'm dying to hear that!

Friday, I babysat Sofia and two of her friends. The youngest was a four year old named Shelby who kept wanting to hold Beckham and take care of him. She kept hugging and kissing him; and when he had the hiccups, she patted his back. It was so sweet!

We took the scissors to his hair! On the left side of Beckham's head, his hair was very long and hung over his ear and Joshua has been dying to cut it. I finally got tired of it too so today we chopped it off during Joshua's lunch break. Beckham was in the middle of a nap and had no idea. I now have his hair in a tiny Ziploc baggy in his baby book.

My baby is in love with himself! This morning I was taking pictures of Beckham during tummy time and learned that he not only loves looking at himself in the mirror, but he also loves looking at pictures of himself. Haha! Check out the video below!
