Once again, it's been two weeks since my last post. I hate when I get behind like this because it's always so hard to remember everything. I'm sure I'll end up forgetting something but here I go...
On Thursday, June 25th, I threw a Baby/Mama swim party at my brother's house. We had a nice show of people and everyone brought something to eat. All of the babies seemed to enjoy the pool, and I even had a friend there selling headbands for all the baby girls. You can view her website at www.MadisonCreations.biz. And I can't believe this but I forgot to take pics at the swim party! oopsie!
On Saturday. June 27th, two of my cousins and I threw my sister's surprise shower! She was so shocked that she cried! It turned out super nice and I had blast. Now we're all ready for baby Theresa to arrive in just 9 weeks!
While I was at the baby shower, Joshua and Beckham visited with Donna and Gene. Donna gave Beckham a bath while he was there; and later that night, Joshua told me it was weird because Donna was telling Beckham, "This is where your Daddy had his first bath". So cute! He also described to me how his mom bathed Beckham without the infant tub and how Beckham was smiling and loving it. This made me incredibly curious because I had never seen Beckham smile in the bathtub except for one time when he showed me a little smirk. So, the next day I put Beckham in the bath without the infant tub and not only did Beckham like it better, but so did I! I haven't used the infant tub since! He kicks and splashes, and has a great time. Here are some pics of Beckham enjoying the afternoon with his Nonna and Pa-pah.
After the baby shower, I went to Donna and Gene's to meet up with my boys. I took Beckham outside to take his three month pictures and he hated sitting in the grass where I put him, and I don't blame him - I was itchy too! After he started fussing, we brought him in, fed him and got him changed for the rest of the shots. The new location worked out much better and those ended up being my favorite photos of the day. On Sunday, June 29th, we were at my mom's house and it was the first time I saw Beckham reach for a toy and grab it! He was sitting in a jumper that has toys attached to the front of it and he was staring at it for the longest time trying to figure out how to work his hands. After he was able to grasp on to it, it didn't stop! Since then, he's been grabbing at and playing with all of his toys! It's amazing how quickly babies learn and it's so wonderful to watch.
On Tuesday, June 30th, Beckham and I went to our mommy group where he weighed in at 12 lbs 1 oz - the exact same as the week before! The nurse reminded me not to worry just yet because he had done this before and ended up gaining 13oz the following week. During the group, I placed a set of toy keys in Beckham's left hand and he was so excited that he was holding it that he was thrusting his arms and legs around like crazy. Then he somehow managed to transfer the keys from his left hand to his right one all on his own and so he really got excited. I never saw him get so excited during the group before!
On Friday, June 3rd, Joshua had the day off so we went tubing with a group of Marines and their wives. It was the longest I had ever spent away from Beckham and I was missing him so bad before we even left... I think because I knew it was going to be so long. Donna and Gene watched him for us and he did just fine without me. The took a bunch a pictures so I got to see what he was doing throughout the day.
Saturday was the Fourth of July and we spent the day at my brother's house, swiming and eating. Beckham was a sweetie pie and let everyone hold him. Pics below!
For the past month or so, we've noticed that Beckham loves himself! Seriously, he does! Whenever he sees himself in the mirror, he immediately smiles. Sometimes he even gets so excited that it sounds like he's about to start laughing. I took a short video while we were at Jason's house Saturday but he was mostly concerned about the camera. However, you do get to see his pretty smile!
This morning Beckham was weighed at the mommy group and he was 12 lbs 11.6 oz. So he gained 10.6 over the last week! He seems to only gain weight every other week. Strange!Here are some more pics from the last couple of weeks!
