What About "Ma Ma"?

Another week has flown by! Theresa is already four weeks old and Payton will be here in at least 10 days! WOW!

Beckham has been infatuated with balloons for a while now. My mom keeps a couple of the foil ones at her house for him because he loves to stare at them and punch them whenever we visit. Well Thursday I took him to my friend, Amanda's house to have a playdate with her daughter Ariel and they had a latex balloon there. It was the first time Beckham got to play with one of those and he loved it! It had a string attached to it and he would hold it by the string and bang it on the ground. He would also try squeezing and biting it, and he was chasing it all around. Once he got the balloon, he totally forgot about Ariel!

Saturday, we had two 90th birthday parties to go to! My dad's grandmother and Huey's grandfather both turned 90 and had surprise parties on the same day. Surprisingly, Beckham handled the long, busy day really well. He was able to take a nice, long nap at the first party despite the loud music and all the attention; and every time Huey held him at the second party, he pooped! Below is a photo of the birthday girl, my great grandmother Marian holding Beckham and a photo of my grandmother Marilyn holding him. He's really looking big! There is also a photo of all the little babies on my dad's side of the family along with a couple other photos from the party.

Sunday, we took Beckham to our friend's son's first birthday party. One of our other friends was there with his son who also just turned a year old. Their son, Micah was wearing a Saints onesie and Beckham was wearing a LSU onesie so we got some pictures of them together!

One of the other babies at the party was hanging out in a pack-n-play so I put Beckham in there to interact with him. The other baby was grabbing Beckham's hair and pulling out his pacifier while Beckham just sat there looking at him.

By the way, the birthday boy's father told us that he never saw a baby look "so half and half like both of his parents" as Beckham does. I tell Joshua how people are always telling me that Beckham has my eyes and smile but he never listens to me. He can't deny finally hearing it for himself!

Now, although I agree that Beckham does look mostly like Joshua and it's obvious that he also has a lot of Joshua's personality traits, he also has a little of me in there too. Lately Beckham has been making a sound with his throat that I've been doing since I was a little girl. It freaked me out when I first heard him do it and he's been doing it all the time now! It's strange the things we pass on to our kids!

For a while now, Beckham has been using his feet to help him scoot around similar to the babies who use their feet to crawl. Well lately he's been getting up on his feet while playing with his toys. He does this all the time now!

Today I took Beckham to the baby group for what looks like may be the last time. He was a little terror! He's obviously become too old for the group. He was crawling to the opposite end of the mat and I would have to get the moms to pass him back down to me. Then he was stealing everyone's toys and would swing them in the air until they went flying out of his hands and hit the little babies in the head. He even banged Leah in the head with a toy twice causing her to bust out crying. Then he was crawling off the mat and grabbing one of the moms toes because she was wearing pink toe nail polish. He was definitely a handful. I had to feed him an hour early just to keep him in one place! One of the things I'll really miss about the group is being able to weigh him every week. Today he weighed 16lbs 7oz which means he gained 6oz this week!

My baby boy is growing up so fast! Today he said, "Da Da" for the first time! Fortunately, Joshua took off of work for the week so he was home to hear Beckham say it. As soon as the words came from his mouth, Joshua and I both looked at each other smiling. Joshua would say, "Da Da" and then Beckham would repeat him! Beckham has even said it several more times!

Also, last night Beckham moved himself from a crawling to a sitting position for the first time! He did it a few more times today too!

ABOUT BABY BREAUX #2:

Ugh! I thought I was going to be in the second trimester this week but according to my tickers, the second trimester isn't until 14 weeks! So one more week until I'm there! I've been feeling pretty good besides some nausea here and there, and a little bit of fatigue. Beckham keeps me busy so I don't have time to think about or feel the bad things... haha!
