Birthdays, Bunnies and Baby Breaux

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Yep, it's already May. I'm only about a month away from delivering this baby so it's about time for me to update this blog. So much has happened since my last post so let's get right to it.

Beckham Patrick turned three years old on March 25th. I pretty much spoiled him the entire day. That morning, Joshua took Everett to the hospital (as I mentioned in my last post) so Beckham and I spent a few hours alone together. We baked cupcakes, he got to have oreos and then I let him play in the bath tub for as long as he wanted which turned out to be about two hours.

That evening we met up with Frank, Tasha and Isaac at Chuck E. Cheese which was one of Beckham's three requests for his birthday (to go to Chuck E. Cheese, eat a pink cupcake and wear a birthday hat).

Everett's 2nd birthday was the following weekend on March 31st. My boys are growing up! We started off the day with an Easter egg hunt which was both of the boys first one ever. They had an Easter bunny there and although both boys were excited to see him, Everett was scared to get too close.

After the Easter egg hunt, we took to the boys out for breakfast before moving on to our next adventure.

We spent that afternoon at The Station which is a restaurant in San Diego that has an outside play area for children. We were able to sit at a table right next to the play area and watch the boys play.

After eating and singing "Happy Birthday", we all went to a nearby park where everyone enjoyed the rest of the evening.

Easter was getting close so we took the boys to the mall to sit on the Easter bunny's lap. The picture looks almost identical to the last Santa picture. Everett was so scared! He was totally fine and excited the whole time we waited in line. He kept waving to the Easter bunny and smiling while saying "Hey, Easta bunny!". But once I sat him on the bunny's lap, he freaked! As soon as I took him off, he was back to smiling and waving at the bunny again. Silly boy.

Easter Sunday was on April 8th this year. The boys woke up to find their baskets filled with goodies so they, of course, were very excited.

After going through their baskets, the boys had breakfast and then went right to coloring eggs. This was our first year coloring eggs because we forgot to the last two years.... oopsie! Well, I'm very happy we remembered this year because the boys got a kick out of it. Everett seemed to think the eggs were balls because he kept throwing them.  He even knocked over a cup of dye.  lol.  We also had Papah and Nonna on skype so they could join us too!

We spent the rest of Easter Sunday at La Jolla Cove with Frank, Tasha and Isaac. The boys absolutely love that place! It was a wonderful day and I was even able to get another cute pic of the three boys together.

Due to the difficult time I've been having with my pregnancy, Donna arrived here to stay with us on April 10th to help me care for the boys. I knew I really needed the help, but I didn't realize how much of a difference it would make for my body until she was actually here. Before she came, I would spend evenings moaning in pain and unable to move. With this being my third pregnancy in three years and also having to care for two toddlers, I was really standing, carrying, walking, bending, and moving too much. Contractions were getting increasingly worse and the pain that I felt everywhere was becoming unbearable. I was really in fear that I would either get put on bed rest or even worse, have this baby much too early. So Donna was kind of like an angel that rescued me from a lot of the pain and stress. She was here for almost three weeks, and now I'm so lonely with her back home! Even one of the neighborhood boys asked me today if she was coming back. Haha! She left for New Orleans on April 28th, and she took Beckham with her. Her visit back home will only be for two weeks, and then she and Becks will be coming back on May 11th in which she plans to spend another month here. We will all really be missing her after that!

Beckham and Donna have been in New Orleans for a week now; and although Beckham has his moments when he is missing us and is wanting to be home, he is truly having a blast there. Everett has been enjoying getting all of the attention here too. He is laughing and bouncing around all day everyday. However, he will sometimes say out of the blue, "I miss brubba." and Beckham is saying the same back in NOLA. Once when they were skyping, Beckham told Everett, "Evie, I miss you and I love you." and Everett responded, "I love you, brubba". These moments are so hard for me, but I know it will just make their bond grow stronger. Maybe there will even be less fighting when they get back together...?? Maybe?? Here are some pics of Becks in Nawlins and some of Evie in Cali over the last week.

A week before Donna and Beckham left, Joshua and I went on a marriage enrichment retreat that turned out to be really beautiful. We were in cabins in this fantastic place in the middle of the mountains, and we learned a lot about ourselves, our relationship and relationships in general. Our 5 year wedding anniversary was on April 7th (the week before) so it was really refreshing to have that important time together to keep our marriage going strong. And no better time to dig deep and strengthen a relationship than right before you welcome a new baby!

A little update on the things that come out of the mouths of my two sons.  First of all, I just love how everyone tries to warn me that girls are sassy so I should beware when the new baby comes (and starts talking).  Well, these people obviously do not know my son, Beckham!  There is no possible way there is another child on this planet that is more sassy than he is.  Unfortunately, Everett is learning from his big brother and one of his favorite things to say now is "stop it".  And when I tell Everett "no no", he makes sure to tell me "yes yes".  His second favorite thing to say is "I don't want to" and he loves to constantly call out, "I need help!".  You know they get put in time out a lot because Everett is always putting his panda bear in time out.  He tells panda bear, "Don't move.  Sit in time out.  You don't hit mommy.  Say sorry."

Beckham's mouth could sure use some soap of hot sauce, but sometimes he still says some cute things.    Once he was correcting Everett so I told him that only Everett's parents could do that and he is not a parent.  He, of course, told me that he was in fact a parent; and when I explained that a parent is a mommy or a daddy and he is not one of those, he told me "Wellllll, I look like my daddy."  He actually said this with a bit of attitude, but I still have to put it under "cute things that Beckham has said".  He also recently told Nonna that he was so tired that he only had one eye awake.  Haha!

Baby Breaux #3:
I am currently 35 weeks pregnant, and as I just mentioned, I've been having a hard time. I had an appointment on April 12th and because of all of the contractions I was having, my dr checked me to make sure my cervix was still as it should be which it was. However, I had a little bit of a scare because when she measured my belly, I measured quite small and I could tell she was concerned. I was almost 32 weeks at the time and I should have been measuring between 30-32 cm and I was only measuring 27cm. My dr did an ultrasound to make sure that the baby was growing properly and thankfully, she was. She measured 32 weeks just as she should. At this appt, I had no weight gain so I was still at a total gain of 17 lbs weighing in at 132lbs, and the baby's heart rate was 120bpm.

I had another appt two weeks later on April 26th. A week earlier, I started having contractions around midnight. They lasted an hour and a half and were three minutes apart. I did not go to the hospital because although they were close together, they were short, lasting under a minute each. I was about to down a bottle of water and take a hot shower when they finally decided to stop. Well because of this, my dr ended up putting me on progesterone which she believes will help reduce the occurrence of contractions. I've been taking it for a week now and I have noticed less of them, but the ones I've been having are much more intense. As of this appt, my cervix is still in check. The baby's heart rate was 150bpm and I had a weight gain of 1 pound.

As for some of what I've been going through, I have the usual back pain, fatigue, heart burn, etc.  However, I've been suffering with terrible acid reflux at night, worse than ever in my life.  I actually wake up choking on vomit that burns my throat so bad that I have to suck on cough drops to numb the pain.  It has even happened 5 times in one night!  I've also been having sharp pains in my lower stomach and a ton of pressure.  She is head down so I constantly feel her punching my pubic bone, and she seems to mostly hang out on the left side of my belly.  The pain "down there" has gotten much worse so much that I sometimes have to sway my legs back and forth to get around instead of walking.  And then there's the contractions.  The painful kind.  I'm really not sure if I can manage for another five weeks so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she decides to grace us with her presence in only two weeks.  Oh how wonderful that would be.

Below is a video of Marigny trying to break out of my belly.  No joke.  This video is freaky!  As much as I want her out, I do love feeling her move around in there.  I can't help but stop and smile, and look down and think to myself, "Oh Marigny, you're already so cute."  :)

Hopefully the next time I post will be about the birth of my baby girl. Until then, please enjoy these pics of my precious boys and thanks for reading!
